 DSS opens Haarlem Series with win

 HAARLEM (Neth.) -
DSS opened the second edition of the Haarlem Series on Friday-evening (March 25) with an 11-5 victory against host Onze Gezellen.
Before the start of the game, the new field of Onze Gezellen, which also includes artificial light, was officially opened.
This year, five teams participate in the tournament, including big league-teams DSS and Kinheim.
They are joined by Onze Gezellen, RCH-Pinguïns and Sparks Haarlem.
On both Saturday and Sunday, two games are played daily.
All teams play two games in the event.
On Saturday, there also is a women's softball-tournament in which organisor Onze Gezellen is joined by big leaguers DSS and Terrasvogels.
The regular season opens on Thursday, April 14.

Throughout the night, a heavy rainshower hit the area, but cleared around 10:30 AM.
Work on the field was done the entire day and so, around 7:30 PM in the evening, the opening ceremony of the field plus the following game could proceed as scheduled.
