 UVV trails, then scores late to eliminate DSS

 VLEUTEN (Neth.) -
Pickles UVV trailed 7-3, then scored four runs in the eighth inning to win 10-9 against DSS on Thursday-evening (August 25).
With the win, UVV secured its big league-sport for next year.
On the other hand, DSS was eliminated for the top three in the Play-Downs, meaning it will end in last place.
DSS had to sweep UVV in order to secure its spot.
With that, the Haarlem-squad will have to play a best-of-five Promotion/Relegation Series against the champion of the second hightest league ('Overgangsklasse').
At the moment, Storks and Orioles are in first and second place of that league, followed by RCH-Pinguïns.
In the upcoming weekend, Storks meets RCH-Pinguïns in a 2-game series.
Trailing 3-0, DSS rallied for seven runs on six hits in the fourth inning, including a 2-run double by Mitchel Dautzenberg to take a 7-3 lead.
UVV answered with two runs in the fourth and added a run in the seventh.
Trailing 7-6, UVV rallied for four runs in the eighth on four hits to make it 10-7 its its favor.
In the top of the ninth, DSS came close to turning the game its way again.
The team scored two runs, then stranded two when the game ends.
