Buchbinder Legionäre Regensburg vs. Munich-Haar Disciples
On a very cold evening in Regensburg, the first ELB-game there offered a lot of basehits, 36 in total.
That's more than the first two games played last week in Brno combined, which was 33.
Home-playing Regensburg recorded 21 basehits and with that became the ELB-team to register 20 or more basehits in one game.
Elias Von Garßen led the squad with four basehits, while Lukas Jahn and Christoph Zirzlmeier both hit three.
Munich-Haar hit 15 basehits tonight, including four by William Thorp.
Christoph Ziegler and José Palacios both hit three hits for the Disciples.
The game, which was attended by only 107 spectators, began with some big hits in the top of the first inning, as Munich-Haar took an early 2-0 lead when Christoph Ziegler and Josh Petersen hit back-to-back homeruns off of starter Mike Bolsenbroek.
The Dutch righthander began with two strikeouts, but then gave up a homerun to Ziegler, who became the first player to hit a fourbagger in ELB-history.
In the bottom of the first, Regensburg got one run back when Lukas Jahn led off with a single, advanced on a double by Matthew Thomas Vance and scored on a sacrifice fly by Ludwig Glaser.
But that also ended in a double play, as Vance was eliminated at third base.

With the bases loaded, Mitch Stephan delivered a runscoring single.
Later in the at bat, with the bases still loaded, a run was scored when José Palacios walked with one out, then another run was added when Simon Lechner was hit by a pitch with two outs.
