Koeiman No-Hits DSS in rain-shortened game
Nederlands
OOSTERHOUT (Neth.) -
43-year old righthander Elton Koeiman threw a 7-inning No-Hitter on Sunday (June 26) in a 4-0 shutout-victory for De Glaskoning Twins against DSS.
With the win, Twins completed a 3-game sweep against the Haarlem-squad.
Koeiman struckout three batters and walked five, but didn't gave up a basehit and record the first-ever big league No-Hitter for Twins.
The No-Hitter is the 47th in the history of the highest Dutch baseball-league since the first one was recorded in 1948.
With his 43 years, Koeiman almost surely became the oldest pitcher to throw a No-Hitter in the highest Dutch league.
Leading 1-0, Twins scored three runs in the fifth inning when Christopher Ge delivered a baseclearing, 3-run double.
After the lead-off hitter of Twins had reached base in the bottom of the seventh inning, the game was stopped because of rain.
After a waiting period, the game was stopped definitively due to the weather and field conditions.
