FORT MYERS / SARASOTA / TAMPA, Florida / TEMPE, Arizona (USA) -
With Opening Day a few days away, most non-roster players have now been assigned to Minor League Spring Training-camps.
There, they willl continue Spring Training and then will be assigned to their respective teams.
Non-roster players are players who are not on the 40-man rosters, but have been invited to be with the big league-club during Spring Training and have the opportunity to make the 25-man roster.
However, Minor League-players are also still being assigned to teams to be with a game as an additional player.
These players are not with the big league-club in Spring Training, but are getting opportunities to be with the main squad for one or two days.
They gain experience and some of them play in a Major League Spring Training-game.
The regular players are getting more and more into action to be ready to play everyday when the season opens.
They don't play daily now during Spring Training-games, but do play more innings.
On the day they don't play, they work on their defensive and offensive skils.
In the past three days, Didi Gregorius (New York Yankees), Jonathan Schoop (Baltimore Orioles), Xander Bogaerts (Boston Red Sox) and Andrelton Simmons (Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim) were the only professionals with a Dutch passport to get into action.
All four are regular starters for their respective clubs.

In that game, Simmons was 1-for-3 and batted in a run in an 11-2 victory.
In the weekend, split-squads of the San Diego Padres and Houston Astros played a two-game series in Mexico City.
In the Mexican capital, the Astros won the first game on Saturday with an 11-1 score after a 7-run rally in the eighth inning.
Carlos Correa and Tyler White hit back-to-back homeruns in the fourth inning for the Astros to open the score.
On Sunday, at Estadio de Beísbol Fray Nano, the Paders rallied for nine runs in the first inning and added eight in the seventh and went on to win 21-6.

In coming days, the 30 Major League-clubs are wrapping up Spring Training and will travel to either their home site of the city where there open the season.
En route, some of them will play some games against their Minor League-teams.
The first team to leave camp will be the San Francisco Giants, who will then play against its Triple-A team at Sacramento, which is near San Francisco.
On Thursday, more teams will play on other locations than in Florida or Arizona with games scheduled in Las Vegas, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Reading and El Paso.
On Friday, only three games are scheduled at Spring Training-sites, one in Arizona and two in Florida.
On Friday and Saturday, baseball also will return to Olympic Stadium in Montreal (Canada), the former home of the Montreal Expos.
The Toronto Blue Jays then will host the Boston Red Sox.
Saturday will be the final day with a full exhibition season.
24 of the 30 Major League-teams then will play and for 23 of them, it will be their final exhibition season.
One of them, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, will play an additional game on Sunday against the Chicago Cubs, who will be their opponent on Monday in its home opener of the regular season.
