Buchbinder Legionäre Regensburg vs. Munich-Haar Disciples
Like the evening before, Munich-Haar opened the score in the first inning, but in the end, the result was the same, as the team was left empty-handed again.
The Disciples scored once in the first at bat off of starter Blake Hassebrock.
He gave up a lead-off single to William Thorp, but he was caught stealing moments later.
Simon Lechner followed with a double, then scored when next batter Christoph Ziegler singled.
D.J. Jauss started for Munich-Haar and held Regensburg scoreless in the first two innings.
He gave up three hits in those innings combined, but also struckout three batters.
In the bottom of the third inning, Regensburg came alongside.
Jauss hit lead-off hitter Matthew Thomas Vance with a pitch, who then advanced on a wild pitch and a grounder.
Hereafter, Maik Ehmcke walked, then Vance scored on a fielder's choice-grounder by Christoph Zirzlmeier.
After Munich-Haar had left two runners in the top of the fifth, Regensburg scored in its half of the inning to take a 2-1 lead.
Ludwig Glaser (fielder's choice) was on first base with one out when next batter Maik Ehmcke delivered a runscoring double.
Regensburg then took more distance by scoring twice in both the sixth and seventh inning.
In the sixth, Elias Von Garßen led off with a double, then moved on a sacrifice bunt by Marcel Jiménez.
Next batter David Dinski walked, then a sacrifice fly by Lukas Jahn and a single by Matthew Thomas Vance made it a 4-1 score.
In the seventh, Etienne Probst took over the pitching for Munich-Haar, but he gave up two more runs.
With one out, he walked Janis Muschik, then gave up a 2-out double to Marcel Jiménez, which was followed by a 2-run double by David Dinski.
Munich-Haar had one run left in the top of the eighth inning off of Philip Meyer, who had taken over the pitching for Regensburg in the seventh inning.
With one out, he gave up an RBI-single to Jan Endrejat, but that was to be all for the Disciples.
The bottom of the eighth inning for Munich-Haar was pitched by Cody Chartrand, who last season played for Twins in the second highest Dutch league ('Overgangsklasse').
He first gave up a single to Matthew Thomas Vance, then walked Ludwig Glaser.
Chartrand followed with two strikeouts, but then got the bases loaded when he walked Janis Muschik.
He avoided giving up runs, as he closed with his third strikeout in the inning.
In the top of the ninth inning, Regensburg closed the game with a double play to complete its third victory in four games.
