ROTTERDAM (Neth.) -
After the interruption for the Baseball Week Haarlem, the regular season resumed again on Thursday-evening (April 28).
In the remainder of the second half of the season, two 3-game series are scheduled for each of the eight teams.
Thereafter, the top-4 will continue in the Play-Offs, while the bottom-4 continues in the Play-Downs.
Tonight, Curaçao Neptunus failed to hold onto an early 3-0 against Pickles UVV, then faced a 4-3 deficit after five innings.
Neptunus came alongside in the seventh inning, then decided the game in the eighth by scoring two runs, thanks to a single by Raily Legito and an error.
Both teams collected eight basehits.
Neptunus off of two pitchers, UVV off of four hurlers.
Tonight, Neptunus got three players back, but had to do without another.
Former pro Randolph Oduber, who injured his hamstring in only his second game after being added to the roster in May, made his comeback in the starting line-up.
He played in leftfield, walked twice and scored a run.
Also making his comeback was second baseman Benjamin Dille, who sustained an inury during the European Champions Cup-tournament in Italy early June.
Dille was 0-for-2.
Oduber and Dille both left tonight's game after having played three innings.
Another player making his comeback tonight was Dashenko Ricardo.
He had announced his retirement after the team had returned from Italy.
However, two weeks ago, he changed his decision, made his comeback in the Netherlands National Team during the Baseball Week Haarlem and now also has rejoined Neptunus.
Ricardo was the catcher again tonight.
Short stop Stijn van der Meer left Thursday for the USA to start his professional career.
Van der Meer was drafted in June by the Houston Astros.
