Venezuela decided the game early and already led 13-0 after three innings.
After scoring four runs in the first at bat, a 5-run rally followed in the next inning, then four more runs were added in the third.
Venezuela collected 14 basehits, including three by Joscar José Alvárez Albornoz, who also scored three runs.

At Saltillo, Chinese Taipei shutout Argentina, 10-0 in eight innings on twelve basehits.
Taipei scored three runs in the second and fifth inning.

Woojun Sim hit three of the nine Korean basehits and also batted in three runs.
At Monterrey, which also will be the site of the all-deciding Final, Japan opened with a 6-1 win against Nicaragua.
Japan led only 1-0 after four innings, but then added two runs in the fifth.
But it then took until the ninth inning to really decide the game.
In that at bat, Japan scored three runs to make it a 6-0 score in its favor.
Nicaragua scored its lone run in the ninth.
Japan-starter Keisuke Honda dominated in seven innings, giving up only two basehits.
The first day ended with a 3-1 win for Panama against host México.
Panama scored twice in the second inning and added a run in the third.
One of the runs was scored on a homerun by Carlos Luis Sanchez Pinto.
Panamanian starter Humberto Alberto Mejia Nuñez silenced the Mexican offense and gave up only three hits in seven innings, while striking out six batters.
México scored its lone run in the ninth inning.
