NARRABUNDAH, Canberra, Australian Capital Territory (Australia) -
The second game of the best-of-three Preliminary Final of the professional Australian Baseball League rained out on Saturday (January 30).
Throughout the day, there was heavy rain, resulting in a delay, then the cancellation of the game between SA Power Networks Adelaide Bite and Canberra Elite Cavalry.
The game will resume on Sunday at The Fort at MIT Ballpark in the Australian capital.
Initially, the game went underway, but it didn't last long.
Due to the heavy rain, it was stopped quickly with a runner on second base and no outs in the top of the first inning.
With this situation, the game will resume on Sunday.
If needed, the third game will follow 30 minutes after completion of Sunday's game.
On Friday, Adelaide opende at home with a 6-4 victory.
In that game, Dutch pitcher Loek van Mil threw the final 2 1/3 inning for Adelaide to earn a save.
Van Mil plays for the team since early December and was 3-2 with five saves in the regular season.
The winner of this Play-Off will meet Brisbane Bandits in the Championship Final, that opens on February 5 and will be played in Brisbane.
The Bandits automatically qualified for the final by finishing in first place in the regular season.
With that, they also earned home advantage and the hosting of the final.
