Game 2
At Jamsil Stadium, after three scoreless innings, Doosan Bears opened the score in the fourth inning off of Eric Hacker.
With the bases loaded (three singles), catcher Eui-ji Yang delivered a runscoring single to give the Bears an 1-0 lead.
However, three runners were then left behind.
NC Dinos came alongside in the top of the eighth inning.
With a runner on first base, a bunt-attempt by pinch-hitter Seok-hun Ji was caught by starting pitcher Won-jun Chang, who then completed the fourth double play made in this game by the Bears-defense.
Hereafter, Chang gave up two singles, resulting in runners on first and third base.
Jong-wook Lee (who was 3-for-4) then followed with another single, which brought in the tying run.
In the bottom of the eighth inning, Bears answered with four runs with two outs to decide the game.
Lead-off hitter Kun-woo Park was hit by a pitch and then moved to third base on a sacrifice bunt and grounder.
Moments later, he scored on a wild pitch from Hacker.
Next batter Jae-hwan Kim then homered to make it a 3-1 score.
That led to a pitching change, but the Bears added two more runs on a single by Jae-il Oh and a double by Eui-ji Yang, who was 3-for-4.
Doosan-starter Won-jun Chang gave up nine basehits and almost threw a complete game.
However, with two outs in the top of the ninth, he had to leave due to a blister on his left middle finger.
Hyun-seung Lee then closed the game successfully.
Doosan Bears now lead 2-0, but they hope to do better this time then during the previous two Series in which they led 2-0.
In 2007 and 2013, the Bears were left empty-handed.
In 2007, the Bears won the first two games against SK Wyverns, but then lost the next four games.
In 2013, the Bears again were leading 2-0, then led 3-1, but lost the final three games against Samsung Lions, which then captured third consecutive title.
In the 2013 Series, Dutch pitcher Rick van den Hurk was the winning pitcher for Doosan in Game 5, pitching two innings in relief.
