Powerhitter Bryan Engelhardt joins Quick Amersfoort

AMERSFOORT (Neth.) -
Powerhitter Bryan Engelhardt will play for Cityside Apartments Quick Amersfoort in the remainder of the season.
The lefthanded hitting first baseman/outfielder started the season on the roster of Kinheim, with whom he played in the Dutch big league since 2008.
But he now has transfered to Quick Amersfoort, where his father Stanley Engelhardt is an Assistant Coach of Head Coach Marco Wels since the start of the season.
Engelhardt Sr. had been the 1B Coach of Kinheim some seasons ago.
After last season, Kinheim withdrew its team from the highest division, as almost all players had left the team.
This year, Kinheim plays in the second highest league, the 'Overgangsklasse', which is the same league as where Quick Amersfoort plays in.
Quick Amersfoort is currently tied for fourth place with a 9-7 record.
Kinheim is in a tie for ninth place with a 7-9 record.
Coming weekend, Quick Amersfoort meets Wassenaar.
Before coming to Kinheim, Bryan Engelhardt played at the highest level for PSV and Almere '90.
While playing for Almere, he also was coached by Marco Wels in some seasons.
While playing for Kinheim, Engelhardt became a well-respected powerhitter and was named Most Valuable Player of the big league after the 2010 season when he hit 57 basehits, including six homeruns, batted in 36 runs, while being the league's third best hitter with a .373 batting average.
Between 2004 and 2015, Engelhardt won the Homerun-title seven times, the last of them in 2015 when he hit eight homeruns.
He also led the league several times in Slugging Average and won the Homerun Derby before the All Star Game three times.
Through the years, Engelhardt also played in many games for the Netherlands National Team, with whom he won the the title at the World Championship in 2011.
While playing for PSV, Engelhardt made his Orange debut in 2002 during the Haarlem Baseball Week.
In following years, he participated in six more Baseball Weeks.
Engelhardt also participated in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing (China), one World Baseball Classic (2009), four World Championships, three Intercontinental Cups, three European Championships and five World Port Tournaments.
Last season, Engelhardt played in 28 games for Kinheim, hitting .250.
He scored 13 runs, batted in 19 runs and hit three homeruns.
