Amsterdam Pirates got its first runner in scoring position in the top of the first inning off of starter Lars Huijer.

Danny Rombley led off with a single and scored the first run on a following double by Kenny Berkenbosch.
With two outs, Berkenbosch moved to third base on an infield-hit by Max Clarijs, then the bases got loaded when Huijer hit Remco Draijer with a pitch.
Two more runs were then added when Zerzinho Croes followed with a 2-run single.
On the throw back to the plate, catcher Paul Brands made an error, enabling the two runners to move to second and third base.
But they stranded there, as a flyout ended the at bat.
Amsterdam added another run in the third inning.
Gilmer Lampe led off with a single, then advanced to third base on an one-out single by Kenny Berkenbosch.
With two outs, Berkenbosch stole second base, then Lampe was able to score on a throwing error to make it a 4-0 score.
Kevin Heijstek went the distance for Amsterdam Pirates, needing only 110 pitches.
The righthander was supported with a double play in the first inning and retired the side in the second.

Amsterdam was unable to take some more distance from the fourth inning on.
In the fifth, the team had runners on first and second base with two outs, but they were left behind.
The team was retired in order in the fourth and sixth at bat.
After giving up the three runs in the fourth inning, Kevin Heijstek retired the side in the fifth.
Pioniers then came alongside in the sixth when Shurman Marlin homered with one out.
Last Tuesday, Marlin hit a grand slam homerun in an 11-0 shutout in a make-up game against HCAW.
In the remaining three innings, the Pioniers-offense was silenced by Heijstek and got only one more baserunner (in the eighth).
Amsterdam did reach the bases, but it took until the ninth inning before it decided the game.
In the seventh, Zerzinho Croes reached on an error and moved on a sacrifice bunt.
With runners on first and second base, the Pioniers-defense turned a double play.
In the top of the eighth inning, Taylor Clemensia took over the Pioniers-pitching from Lars Huijer.
He got two quick outs, then walked pinch-hitter Norbert Jongerius, but closed with a strikeout.
In the ninth, Clemensia began with walks for Remco Draijer and Zerzinho Croes.
He was then relieved by Maickel Rietel, who saw the two runners advance on a sacrifice bunt by Nick Urbanus.
With first base open, it was decided to set up a force play by walking Gilmer Lampe intentionally.
But as happened frequently this season for several teams, this decision backfired.
With the bases loaded, Danny Rombley drove the ball into centerfield for a sacrifice fly that brought in Draijer and gave Amsterdam a 5-4 lead.
A force play then did end the inning on a following grounder.
In the bottom of the ninth inning, Kevin Heijstek retired the side to end the game.
