AMSTERDAM (Neth.) -
L&D Amsterdam Pirates had two exhibition games scheduled for this weekend, but both were cancelled.
The reason is the condition of the playing field at its home site in Amsterdam, due to rainy weather conditions earlier in the week.
On Saturday, Amsterdam Pirates was to play against Deurne Spartans from Belgium.
Instead of playing, the Amsterdam-squad conducted a practice session.
On Sunday, Amsterdam Pirates had a game scheduled against its second team.
That team now will travel to Apeldoorn play against Robur '58 instead.
Amsterdam Pirates now will open its exhibition season coming weekend when it has four games on its schedule during the 2-day Loek Loevendie Tournament.
Besides Amsterdam Pirates, DSS and De Glaskoning Twins also will participate in the event in Amsterdam.
There will three games be played on both Saturday and Sunday with all teams playing a total of four games.
