HCAW opened the score in the bottom of the second inning off of Sander Helmendach, who left the Bussum-squad after last season.
With one out, the righthander got the bases loaded when he walked Rossini Frolijk and Kevin Weijgertse, then gave up a single to Delano Selassa.
Two runs were scored when Sven Jongejans followed with a single and Raoell Kortstam added a sacrifice fly.
HCAW left runners at first and third base in the third inning, then stranded a runner on second base in the fifth.
In that at bat, Roelie Henrique led off with a ground-rule double, but the next three batters were retired.
HCAW-starter Jim Ploeger held DSS hitless and struckout seven batters in the five innings he pitched before the game was interrupted.
The lefthander allowed only one batter to reach base.
Ploeger retired the side in the first, second, fourth and fifth inning.
In the third, he walked Thomas Bos with one out.
He stole second base with two outs, but then was left behind.
After five complete innings, the game was delayed for 50 minutes due to the bright sun-set.
When the game resumed, Steven van Groningen took over de the HCAW-pitching and DSS came alongside in the top of the sixth.
Remarkably enough, DSS scored its runs without hitting a basehit, meaning HCAW's No-Hitter remained intact.
In the sixth, Van Groningen began with a strikeout, but then got the bases loaded when he walked Mitchel Dautzenberg, Kevin Nieveld and Odion Gouverneur.
A sacrifice fly by Koen Halderman then accounted for the first run.
Hereafter, the bases were re-loaded when Omar Williams also walked.
That led to a pitching change.
Oscar Meuris took over, but he hit next batter Tino van Erk with pitch and with that, the score was tied at 2-2.
A pop-up ended the at bat, but it had become a new ball game.
Frustrated after walking four batters, Van Groningen kicked his foot after returning in the dug-out, resulting in an injury.
He is in a cast for at least a week.
In the bottom of the sixth, DSS also entered a new pitcher , as Tim Halderman took over from Sander Helmendach.
He gave up an one-out single to Kevin Weijgertse, but the inning ended when Dylan Koster lined into a double play.
In the top of the seventh, Oscar Meuris added a hitless inning for HCAW.
With two outs, he walked Mitchel Dautzenberg, who stole second base, but stranded there.
HCAW then struck with four runs in the bottom of the seventh on only two basehits.
The bases got loaded quickly when Sven Jongejans led off with a walk, Raoell Kortstam was hit by a pitch and Roelie Henrique reached on a bunt-single.
A force out at the plate followed on a grounder by Boyd Tuhumury.
With the bases still loaded, Bayron Cornelisse took over the pitching, but he was greeted with a runscoring single from Vince Rooi that gave HCAW a 3-2 lead.
Cornelisse then hit next batter Kevin Dirksen with a pitch, resulting in another run.
The next run was scored when a force play-grounder by Rossini Frolijk ended in an error.
Because of this error, the bases remained loaded and HCAW added its fourth run in the at bat on a sacrifice fly by Kevin Weijgertse.
A strikeout ended the at bat, but HCAW now led 6-2 and the 10:30 PM curfew was approaching.
In the top of the eighth inning, closer Sedley Karel took the mound for HCAW.
The No-Hitter then ended when the righthander gave up a lead-off single to Odion Gouverneur.
Hereafter, Karel got the bases loaded when he walked Koen Halderman and Tino van Erk (with one out).
With that, the tying run stepped up to the plate in what was to be the final inning of the game due to the curfew-rule.
With only one out, HCAW's lead could come into jeopardy.
However, the HCAW-defense avoided giving up runs, as the inning ended when Sven van de Sanden grounded into a double play.
That also ended the game.
As the home-playing HCAW was ahead, the eighth inning was not completed.
