HCAW came alongside in the bottom of the sixth off of Kyle Ward.
The lefthander had been sidelined with an injury for several weeks and made his first appearance in the Championship Pool.
Ward last pitched in for Amsterdam on May 14 when he threw five innings, also against HCAW, and was the winning pitcher.
Since then, he is working on his recovery and today, he threw on a pitch-count.
Ward gave up a lead-off single to Vince Rooi, but followed with a strikeout.
An error followed on a force play-grounder by Rachid Engelhardt, which enabled Rooi to reach third base.
