Two games end in tie at Loek Loevendie Tournament
Nederlands

AMSTERDAM (Neth.) - At the first day of the Loek Loevendie Tournament two of the three scheduled games were played on Saturday (March 18). The tournament continues on Sunday, weather permitting.

Host L&D Amsterdam Pirates today played two 5-innings games. In the morning, the team faced DSS and in the afternoon, it played against De Glaskoning Twins. Both games ended in an 1-1 tie.

The third scheduled game between DSS and Twins was cancelled due to rainy weather conditions. While it had rained all night long and still rained somewhat in the early morning, the tournament went underway as scheduled around 10 AM. During the second game, it drizzled somewhat, and later, more rain led to the cancellation of the third match-up. ,,The weather wasn't favorable, but we were able to play some games'', Amsterdam Head Coach Charles Urbanus said. ,,The field was okay, but the mound started to get somewhat muddy. It was good to be out on the field again.''

This was not the lone game that rained out today. In Bussum, HCAW was to play against its second team, but that game was also cancelled.
