Amsterdam got into scoring position right away in the top of the first inning off of starter Jim Ploeger.
The lefthander gave up a lead-off single to Remco Draijer, who moved on a sacrifice bunt, but then was left behind.
Ploeger also did fine tonight, as he gave up only six hits in seven innings.
However, Amsterdam succeeded in moving the runners around, while HCAW didn't get a runner in scoring position.
Pirates opened the score in the second at bat.
Kenny Berkenbosch and Linoy Croes led off with singles and moved on a sacrifice bunt by Rashid Gerard.
Berkenbosch then scored on a sacrifice fly by Max Clarijs.
Berkenbosch doubled with one out in the fourth, but then stranded on second base.
After Amsterdam had been had retired in order in the fifth by Ploeger, the league-leader doubled its lead in the sixth.
This time, Zerzinho Croes and Gilmer Lampe started with singles.
They advanced on a wild pitch and with one out, the bases got loaded when Kenny Berkenbosch walked.
The second run was then scored on a sacrifice fly by Linoy Croes.
In the eighth inning, Oscar Meuris took over from Ploeger.
He saw Pirates get into scoring position again in the ninth when Norbert Jongerius reached on an error with two outs and stole second base.
Meuris closed with a strikeout.
HCAW got on base only five times, as Cordemans was suppored by a solid defense.
In the first inning, Roelie Henrique singled with one out for the home team, but was caught stealing.
Cordemans then retired the side in the second and third inning.
In the next three at bats, the righthander gave up a single.
In the fourth, with one out, Henrique reached on a bunt-single, in the fifth, Rossini Frolijk led off with a single and in the sixth, it was Seb Visser, who began with a single.
But each time, the Amsterdam-defense turned a double play.
Cordemans then struckout the side in the seventh and also got three consecutive outs in the eighth.
Daan Hendrix took over in the ninth.
With one out, he gave up a single to pinch-hitter Dylan Koster, but then struckout the next two batters to end the game.
