ROTTERDAM (Neth.) -
The board of Curaçao Neptunus issued a press release on Friday (June 23) in which the Rotterdam-based big league-club announces that it had been informed on Thursday by the Royal Netherlands Baseball and Softball Association (KNBSB) regarding a provisional suspension of its player Urving Kemp.

The press release, which is signed by the club's Chairman Geoffry Kohl, continues as follows:
,,The reason for the suspension, which is effective immediately, is that Urving has been tested positively during a doping-control following a regular season-game of our team on May 11.
The board will examine the result of the test and awaits the penalty of the Netherlands Association.
Based on these findings, the board wil determine its position regarding further steps to take.''
This season, Kemp, who is primarily used as an outfielder, has played in 17 of the 22 games played by reigning champion Neptunus.
In those games, he batted .262 (11-for-42) with two doubles.
He scored seven runs and batted in nine.
Kemp, who is the brother of Neptunus-player Dwayne Kemp, played his last game last Sunday (June 18).
He then was the leftielder for Neptunus, hit 1-for-4 (double) and batted in a run against De Glaskoning Twins.
Earlier this month, Kemp was with Neptunus when it captured the European Champion Cup in Regensburg (Germany).
