Amsterdam opened the score in the top off the first inning.
UVV-starter Timo van Ancum walked lead-off hitter Remco Draijer.
With two outs, he got into scoring position on a single by Kenny Berkenbosch, then scored the first run on a single by Danny Rombley.
The second run was added in the second inning and it again was scored by someone who had walked.
This time, it was Jesse Aussems who led off with a walk.
After he had moved into scoring position via a sacrifice bunt by Max Clarijs, Amsterdam got another baserunner when Norbert Jongerius was hit by a pitch.
Hereafter, the bases got loaded when Remco Draijer singled.
Aussems then scored when Draijer was forced out on a grounder by Zerzinho Croes to make it a 2-0 score.
In the top of the third inning, Amsterdam scored its third run in the game.
With one out, Danny Rombley singled and moved to third base when Patrick Bok reached on a throwing error.
With two outs, Rombley scored when another throwing error followed, this time on a grounder by Max Clarijs.
In the next four innings, Amsterdam was held scoreless, but the three runs were enough for veteran starter Rob Cordemans to work with.
Cordemans never ran into problems and UVV never got into scoring position in today's game.
With an 1-0 lead, Cordemans gave up a lead-off single to Rick Kuipers in the bottom of the first inning, but he was forced out moments later.
After retiring the side in the second inning, the righthander gave up an one-out single in the third to Cecil Comenencia, but he was caught stealing.

Amsterdam scored a run in the first three innings, but was held scoreless in the next four, despite getting some baserunners.
In the fourth, Zerzinho Croes walked with one out, but was caught stealing.
In the fifth, Danny Rombley reached on an error with one out, but stranded on first base.
In the sixth, José Moreno took over the UVV-pitching.
He walked Remco Draijer with two outs.
An error on a grounder by Zerzinho Croes led to runners on first and third base, but a flyout ended the at bat.
And in the seventh, Danny Rombley singled with one out, but Moreno then closed with two strikeouts.
In the top of the eighth inning, Amsterdam rallied for six runs off of new pitcher Kevin van Veen to take a commanding lead.
Max Clarijs led off with a single, moved on a sacrifice bunt by (former UVV-player) Norbert Jongerius and scored on a double by Remco Draijer.
Hereafter, Zerzinho Croes again reached on an error, which again led to runners at the corners.
Four runs were then added when next batters Gilmer Lampe (one-run), Kenny Berkenbosch (one-run) and Danny Rombley (2-run) all delivered runscoring singles.
With two outs, Jesse Aussems walked and then Max Clarijs again singled in his second at bat in this inning to bring in a run and lift the lead to 9-0.

UVV got its final baserunner in the bottom of the ninth off of closer Daan Hendrix.
