Twins failed to hold onto a lead twice, but then scored what would be the decisive run in the top of the eleventh inning to win its second game in three days against Hoofddorp Pioniers.
Twins was the first team today to get into scoring position.
In the second inning, Melvin Perdue led off with a single, moved on two grounders, but was left behind on third base.
Twins then opened the score with three runs in the fourth at bat off of starter Chris Pfau when the Pioniers-defense made two costly errors, resulting in two unearned runs.
Nick Peels led off with a bunt-single and stole second base.
With one out, he moved to third base on a single by Melvin Perdue, then scored on a single by Mick Molenaar.
With runners on first and second base, a throwing error was made on a force play-grounder from Bram Grooten, which enabled Perdue to score.
Moments later, Grooten was forced out on a grounder by Christopher Ge, but that also was followed by a throwing error (double play attempt) and so, Molenaar was able to score the third run in the inning.
Rookie Mic van de Ven started for Twins and retired the first six batters he faced.
In the third, he walked lead-off hitter Gianni Frolijk, but he was eliminated in a rundown after a pick-off.

Mervin Gario led off with a walk and advanced on a grounder, then scored on a 2-out single by Max Draijer.
The latter moved on the throw to the plate, then reached third base on a single by Shurman Marlin, but Van de Ven closed with a strikeout.
After Twins was retired in order in the top of the fifth, Pioniers came alongside in its fifth at bat, which ended with a rare moment.
With two outs, Brennan Nijhof walked and stole second base.
Hereafter, Mervin Gario homered to make it a 3-3 score.
Next batter Dudley Leonora then singled into left-centerfield.
While rounding first base, he made wide turn towards second base and collided with 1B Umpire Henny Jansen, who fell down.
While Leonora also was out of balance, he continued running to second base.
However, the centerfielder got the ball in time to second base and Leonora was called out by Jansen, who was getting back on his feet.
And so, the inning ended, but it was a new ball game.
In a collission such as this, the play continues and is not 'dead'.
In the following innings, both teams got a chance to break the tie.
In the top of the sixth, Dennis De Quint and Melvin Perdue both walked and moved on a sacrifice bunt, but were left behind.
In the seventh, off of new pitcher Angelo Wicklert, Twins again got two baserunners.

In the ninth, with two outs, Max Draijer reached on a throwing error.
However, he tried to take an extra base on the error and then was eliminated at second base.
Both teams scored a run in the ninth inning.
In the top of the ninth, Maickel Rietel took over the pitching for Pioniers.
He gave up a lead-off single to Christopher Ge, but he was caught stealing.
With two outs, Denzel Bryson singled and scored on a following double by Jamie Verheyleweghen to give Twins a renewed lead, 4-3.
In the bottom of the ninth, Pioniers tied the score for the second time.
Brendan Schoemaker became the new pitcher for Twins, but walked lead-off hitter Shurman Marlin.
Mark Smit then entered as pinch-runner for Marlin and moved to third base on a following single by Glenn Bakker, then scored the tying run on a single by Joey Eeman.
Bakker was stopped at third base and with runners at the corners and two outs, a force play was created by walking Mervin Gario intentionally.
With the bases loaded, the inning ended with a flyout and so, the game went into extra innings.
In the top of the tenth inning, Scott Ronnenbergh took over the pitching from Rietel.
The lefthander gave up an one-out single to Melvin Perdue, but he stranded on first base.
In the bottom of the tenth, Max Draijer singled with one out and moved on a sacrifice bunt, but Schoemaker then closed with a strikeout.
Twins took the lead for the third time in the top of the eleventh inning.
With one out, Ronnenbergh walked Menno Lenting and Denzel Bryson, then gave up a runscoring single to Jamie Verheyleweghen.
With runners at the corners, Darryl Jamoena became the sixth pitcher of the afternoon for Pioniers.
