 Neptunus and Ronald Jaarsma nominated for Rotterdam Awards

Curaçao Neptunus has been nominated (again) for Team of the Year during the upcoming Sport Awards Rotterdam-Rijnmond.
First-year Head Coach Ronald Jaarsma is nominated for the title Coach of the Year.
The winners will be announced on Monday, December 11 at the S.S. 'Rotterdam'.
Besides Team of the Year and Coach of the Year, awards also will be handed out to the Male Athlete, Female Athlete, Talent, Volunteer and Handicapped Atlete of the Year.
It will mark the 31st time that these Awards will be presented to athletes from the Rotterdam-area.
This year, Neptunus captured the European Champions Cup by winning the Final of the event in Regensburg (Germany) against UnipolSai Fortitudo Bologna (Italy) with a 7-3 score.
On October 8, Neptunus won its 18th Dutch Championship-title in club-history by winning the Holland Series against L&D Amsterdam Pirates.
The team was led for the first time by Ronald Jaarsma, who succeeded Evert-Jan 't Hoen after last season.
't Hoen led Neptunus for four years and won the Dutch title each year.
Neptunus and Jaarsma will have strong competition from the Feyenoord-soccer team, which won its first Dutch Championship-title (and 15th in club-history) since 1999.
Feyenoord's Head Coach Giovanni van Bronckhorst is also nominated.
The third team nominated for Team of the Year is Sliedrecht Sport Women (volleyball).
The third nominated coach is Gertjan van der Linden of the Netherlands Women Wheelchair Basketball Team.
The nominees for Female Athlete of the Year are Chantal Blaak (cycling), Lucinda Brand (cycling) and Marieke Keijser (rowing).
Nominated for Male Athlete of the Year are Seve van Ass (field hockey), Bart Deurloo (gymnastics) and Karim El Ahmadi (soccer).
Neptunus last was chosen Team of the Year in 2015 when it also won both the European Champions Cup and the Dutch title.
Since 1991, Neptunus was named best team in Rotterdam seven times.
When Jaarsma wins the Award, he will become the third Neptunus-coach to be named Coach of the Year.
Earlier, Robert Eenhoorn (2005, 2007) and Evert-Jan 't Hoen (2013, 2014) won the Award.
