HCAW-starter Kaj Timmermans had another fine outing today.
While he walked six batters, the righthander threw six-plus solid innings, gave up only two basehits and was supported by some good defense.
In the first inning, Timmermans walked Thomas Bos with one out.
He stole second base with two outs, then tried to score on a single by Omar Williams, but was eliminated at the plate after a good throw by leftfielder Kevin Dirksen.
After retiring the side in the second inning, Timmermans helped himself with a successful pick-off in the third inning.
He walked lead-off hitter Devano Pieter, who moved on a sacrifice bunt, but then was eliminated at third base trying to advance on a grounder to short by Odion Gouverneur.
With two outs, Timmermans ended the inning by picking off Gouverneur at first base.
In the top of the fourth inning, HCAW was now leading 4-0, Timmermans was supported with a double play and he then retired the side again in the fifth.
The HCAW-defense made another double play in the sixth at bat.
Offensively, HCAW faced Mike Groen, who also got some fine defensive support in his first two innings.

In the bottom of the first, just after a DSS-runner was eliminated at the plate, the same happened to HCAW.
With one out, Delano Selassa reached on an error and moved on a grounder to second base.
With two outs, Rossini Frolijk singled, Selassa tried to score, but was elminated at the plate on the throw from leftfielder Odion Gouverneur.
In the second inning, it was the DSS-defense that turned a double play.
HCAW then struck with four runs in the bottom of the third inining, which would be decisive.
Sven Jongejans led off with a single, Raoell Kortstam walked and the bases got loaded when Roelie Henrique reached on a bunt-single.
Moments later, the first run was scored on a wild pitch and the next run was added when Delano Selassa hit a sacrifice fly.
Vince Rooi followed with a runscoring single and Rossini Frolijk added an RBI-double to make it a 4-0 score.
In the remainder of the game, the DSS-pitching held HCAW scoreless, but the four runs were enough.
HCAW got into scoring position only one more time in the eighth inning.
DSS made another double play in the fourth on a line drive by Henrique.
The team got two force-play grounders in the fifth.
That inning began with a painful at bat for Delano Selassa.
With an 1-2 count, the rookie was hit on his right wrist-area by a pitch, but it was ruled a foul-ball.
Selassa continued the at bat, struckout on the next pitch, but didn't return to his position at short.
Afterwards, a fracture in his wrist was diagnosed which will keep him out of action for at least six weeks.

In the sixth inning, Groen also had a successful pick-off, then was relieved in the seventh by Tim Halderman.
In the seventh, he gave up a lead-off single to Rachid Engelhardt, but he was caught stealing to end the at bat.
In the eighth, with one out, Rossini Frolijk singled and Kevin Dirksen walked to give HCAW its last runner in scoring position.
The two were left behind.
In the top of the seventh, HCAW turned its third double play, but also saw DSS have runners on first and third base.
HCAW-starter Kaj Timmermans was then bothered by a bleeding blister on his right thumb and needed to be replaced.
Giovanni Tensen then took over and closed the inning with a strikeout.
Trailing 4-0, DSS got a run back in the top of the eighth inning.
Levine Gabriëls led off with a single and Devano Pieter walked.
With one out, the bases got loaded when Sven van de Sanden singled.
This led to a pitching change.
Steven van Groningen took over from Tensen, but saw a run being scored on a grounder by Thomas Bos.
Hereafter, Van Groningen also closed with a strikeout.
Oscar Meuris pitched the ninth inning for HCAW.
He gave up an one-out single to Tino van Erk, then got a flyout and Meuris then became the third pitcher in a row to end the inning with a strikeout.
