MeerLease Pioniers will be the new name for the main-squad of Hoofddorp Pioniers for the coming years.
After several months of talks between the two parties, Hoofddorp Pioniers on Sunday (July 1) officially signed a multi-year contract with Hoofddorp-based auto-lease company MeerLease, powered by Hartgerink en Klomp.
The contracts were signed at the field before the home-game against De Glaskoning Twins.
Representing sponsor MeerLease was René Klomp, while the Topsport Foundation Hoofddorp was represented by Wilko Geesink.
After the champagne was uncorked, the game went underway and playing in its first game under its new name MeerLease Pioniers, the home team won 6-3.
Hoofddorp Pioniers was sponsored by Vaessen from 2011 through 2016.
Vaessen succeeded Konica Minolta, which has supported the team for many years through 2010.
The team played without a main-sponsor since last season.
