Storks opened the score with one run in the top of the first inning off of starting pitcher Colin van Laar.
The lefthander gave up a lead-off single to Gino Gil, who with this made his big league-debut.
Gil was brought into scoring position with a sacrifice bunt by Jurriaan Dijk.
He then scored on a 2-out triple by Runai Coran, who stranded on third base, as Van Laar closed with a strikeout.
Storks doubled its lead in the second inning.
Lead-off hitter Aldi Guzman reached on an error and advanced to third base when Philip Brandl singled.
Guzman scored when Sergio Schoop (who also made his debut) grounded into a double play.
Van Laar again closed with a strikeout, but Quick now trailed 2-0.
In the next two innings, Van Laar encountered no problems and also was supported with two runs by his teammates.
Trailing 1-0, Quick Amersfoort came close to tying the score in its first at bat, but it left runners behind on first and third base when Storks-starter Martin Kram also closed with a strikeout.
In the next at bat, the home team again got into scoring position, but this time runners stranded on first and second base.
Now trailing 2-0, Quick had a productive third inning and came alongside, but could have scored more.
With one out, Rachid Engelhardt reached on an error, then scored when his brother Bryan Engelhardt homered.
For Engelhardt, this was his first big league-homerun since July 10, 2016.
On that day, while playing for Kinheim, Engelhardt hit a solo-homerun in the sixth inning against UVV.
For Engelhardt, today's homerun was the 80th in his big league-career.
He led the Dutch big league in homeruns eight times, including three years in a row (2013-2015).
Last season, Engelhardt didn't play in the highest league.
He then joined Quick Amersfoort during the season and played with the team in the second highest league.
After Engelhardt had homered, Quick got another scoring opportunity.
Tijmen Takke singled and with two outs, the bases got loaded when Jules Cremer and Luigino Rosaria both were hit by a pitch.
The inning ended with a force play-grounder and so, three runners were left behind.
Storks re-took the lead in the top of the fifth inning.
Sergio Schoop led off with a walk and got into scoring postion via a wild pitch.
With one out, he moved to third base on a single by Gino Gil, then scored when Joran Berkhout also singled.
Storks added two more runs in the sixth, which were both unearned due to an error.
With one out, Aldi Guzman walked.
The team then got runners on second and third base when a grounder by Philip Brandl ended in a throwing error.
That also led to a pitching change, as Luis Figuera Roman took over from Colin van Laar.
The Venezuelan righthander was greeted with a runscoring single from Sergio Schoop, then another run was added on a grounder by Tyron de Windt.
Quick was silenced in the three middle innings.
The team got only two baserunners, one of whom was picked off at first base by reliever José Moreno.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, Quick narrowed the deficit to 5-4 by scoring two runs off of José Moreno, who had taken over in the previous inning with one out and began with the above mentioned successful pick-off.
But in the seventh, he began by walking Jelle Blaauw and Rachid Engelhardt.
With one out, the two moved on a wild pitch, then both scored when Tijmen Takke followed with a single.
Last season, Takke and Moreno were teammates while playing for Pickles UVV.
With Takke on second base, Remian Denis walked.
Quick then again got runners on second and third base after a grounder, but they were left behind when pinch-hitter Jos de Jong popped out.
Storks left another runner in scoring position in the top of the eighth, then Quick came alongside in the home half of the innng.
Jordy Burger led off with a walk, moved on a sac-bunt by Wesley Bernardus and advanced to third base on a flyout.
With two outs, Burger scored the tying run on a single by Bryan Engelhardt.
With two outs in the top of the ninth, Storks got two baserunners when Runai Coran (who was 3-for-5) and Kendrick Delima both singled.
Hereafter, Luis Figuera Roman closed with a strikeout.
Moments later, Quick decided the game.
With one out, Jules Cremer reached on an error.
With two outs, he stole second base, then scored the winning run on a walk-off single by Jordy Burger.
