BRASSCHAAT (Belgium) -
Finally, it was Spring!
Finally, the weather conditions were great to be at the ballpark and play a game.
Today's temperate varied from 19 degrees Celsius (66.2 Fahrenheit) and 23 (73.4) with an average temperature of 20 degrees (68) in the afternoon.
And so, all scheduled exhibition games were played and the teams were able to get into action under very comfortable and warm conditions.
On Saturday (April 7), in Brasschaat (Belgium), Dutch reigning champion Curaçao Neptunus nipped Belgian vice-champion Brasschaat Braves 4-3 in a 9-inning game.
Last year, Brasschaat lost the best-of-five Belgian Series against Borgerhout Squirrels.
With the Series tied at 2-2, Borgerhout won Game 5 with a 6-2 score.
Today's game remained scoreless in the first four innings, then Neptunus scored twice after Brasschaat had changed its American starting pitcher.
Neptunus held onto the lead, but later in the game, the team led only 3-2 and then 4-3.
