Quick Amersfoort outscores Storks; Two games suspended
Nederlands

AMERSFOORT / HAARLEM / BUSSUM (Neth.) - Cityside Apartments Quick Amersfoort won 7-4 on Friday-evening (September 7) in a make-up game against Silicon Storks. The game was initially scheduled for Thursday-evening, but then rained out.

Two other games that also rained out on Thursday were scheduled for tonight. Both games went underway, but were halted due to heavy rain and will be completed in the weekend.

In Haarlem, DSS played at home against Meerlease Pioniers. Tom Stuifbergen made his first start in the Relegation Pool for DSS in his first appearance since August 27. Stuifbergen made his last start on May 19, which also was his last appearance, as he was sidelined with an injury thereafter. He returned to the mound on August 23, pitching one inning in relief.

Tonight, Pioniers was leading 3-0 in the top of the sixth inning when the game was halted due to rain. With runners on second and third base, a 2-minute rain-delay followed. While it still rained, the game resumed and a walk loaded the bases. It then started to rain heavier and with an 1-1 count on the next batter, another delay followed. This time, the game was halted definitively, as the field became unplayable. The game will resume in this situation and be completed on Sunday, September 9 at 1 PM before the start of the regularly scheduled game. The pitchers-of-record are Lars Vogelaar (DSS) and Lars Huijer (Pioniers).

In Bussum, the game between HCAW and De Glaskoning Twins was halted halfway the ninth inning. Twins took an 1-0 lead in the second inning, but HCAW came alongside in the seventh. After completion of the top of the ninth inning, heavy rain made the field unplayable, resulting in the halting of the game. It will be completed on Saturday, September 8 at 1 PM before the start of the regularly scheduled game. The pitchers-of-record are Dennis Burgersdijk (HCAW) and Jan Evertse (Twins).
