DSS one-runs Hoofddorp Pioniers in second exhibition game

On another sunny afternoon, more exhibition games were played by teams from the Dutch big league.
Today, it was the warmest April 8 in Dutch weather history.
In the afternoon, it was 23.1 degrees Celsius (73.6 Fahrenheit), which broke the old record of 22.6 Celsius (72.7 F) from 1969.
In the east of the country, temperatures rose ro 24 degrees (75.2 F).
In the west, at the coast, there was a cool wind in the afternoon, but nevertheless, the weather conditions also were very there fine with temperatures around 18 degrees (64.4 F).

In Haarlem on Sunday (April 8), DSS and Hoofddorp Pioniers played their second exhibition game against each other.
On Saturday, DSS won 9-7, today, the Haarlem-squad won again, this time with a small 3-2 score.
DSS opened the score in the second inning off of starter Dion Steijl.
Koen Halderman then doubled and Kevin Nieveld and Sander Paap followed with runscoring singles.
Pioniers got one run back in the top of the third inning, then came alongside in the fifth.
In the bottom of the sixth, DSS re-took the lead off of Alexander Valdes.
Tino van Erk was then hit by a pitch and he was able to move to third base when a pick-off ended in an error.
He then scored on a grounder by Koen Halderman.
Pioniers was held scoreless in its final four at bats by relievers Sander Helmendach and Donny Breek.
The latter will make his professional debut later this year.
He currently is still in the Netherlands, as he has to report for Minor League Spring Training later this month.
