HCAW opened the score in the first at bat off of starter Darryl Jamoena. He gave up a lead-off double to Jeandro Tromp, who moved to third base and scored on two consecutive grounders to first baseman Kendrick Delima by Delano Selasso and Roelie Henrique.

HCAW added two more runs in the second at bat. Seb Visser led off with a bunt-single. After next hitter Patrick Bok had flied out, Jamoena was relieved by Nick Winkel, but he walked Julian Goins and got the bases loaded when he gave up a single to Roland Laurens. Hereafter, Jeandro Tromp followed with a 2-run single to make it a 3-0 score. Laurens and Tromp moved on a sacrifice bunt by Delano Selassa, but then were left behind.

HCAW got onto scoring position again in the next two innings off of Winkel, but didn't score this time.

In the fifth inning, José Moreno threw a scoreless inning for Storks, then Jurrian Koks took over in the sixth. He gave up HCAW's fourth run. The righthander hit lead-off hitter Julian Goins with a pitch, then gave up a single to Roland Laurens. With one out, Koks got the bases loaded when he walked Delano Selassa. A run was then scored on a grounder by Roelie Henrique, but HCAW again left two runners behind in scoring position.

Storks also got several scoring opportunities, but left five runners behind in scoring position in its first six at bats.

HCAW-starter Chris Pfau threw five solid innings. The lefthander struckout nine hitters and gave up only three basehits. When he left the mound, he was the pitcher-of-record to become the winner, but the score changed shortly thereafter.

In the bottom of the first inning, Pfau gave up a lead-off single to Quinlan de Windt and walked next hitter Jurriaan Dijk. A double play followed and De Windt stranded on third base.

In the second inning, with two outs, Imco Rudolph struckout, but reached on a passed ball, then was left behind on second base. In the third, Jurriaan Dijk singled with one out, but also stranded on second base. After being retired in order in the fourth, Storks left runners behind on first and second base in the fifth.

Ian Delamarre took over HCAW's pitching in the sixth inning. He gave up a 2-out single to Timo van Aanhout, who stole second base, but then also was left behind in scoring position.

Trailing 4-0, Storks struck with four runs with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning off of reliever Timo van Ancum. He walked lead-off hitter Tijani Dunlop, but he was forced out on a hit into centerfield by next hitter Giovanny Perez. With two outs, Jurriaan Dijk singled and Kendrick Delima followed with a runscoring single. The bases got loaded when Joran Berkhout walked. Moments later, the bases were cleared when Aldi Guzman connected for a 3-run double, which made it 4-4 score. It also led to a pitching change, as Dennis Burgersdijk took over. He closed with a strikeout.

HCAW immediately re-took the lead in the top of the eighth inning, which was done by the team's two most productive hitters today. Jeandro Tromp led off with a double and scored on a 2-out double by Vince Rooi. In this game, Tromp was 4-for-6, including two doubles. He scored twice and also batted in two runs. Rooi was 3-for-5 with a double and batted in what would be the winning run.

Dennis Burgersdijk retired the side in the eighth, but got some baserunners in the ninth. He walked lead-off hitter Quinlan de Windt, then saw next hitter Jurriaan Dijk reach on an error. Dijk reached base five times in this game. Both runners were eliminated. First, Burgersdijk picked off De Windt at second base. Hereafter, Dijk was forced out on a grounder by Kendrick Delima. Burgersdijk closed with a strikeout to end the game and win his third game of the exhibition season.
