Twins wins twice against Belgian teams

OOSTERHOUT (Neth.) / BRASSCHAAT (Belgium) -
De Glaskoning Twins recorded two victories in the weekend, playing two exhibition games against teams from the highest Belgian league.
On Saturday (April 7), Twins recorded a big 14-1 win against Hoboken Pioneers in a 9-inning game.
Twins opened the score in the first inning, but the Belgian opponent came alongside in the second at bat off of starter Jan Evertse, who threw the first two innings.
For Hoboken, this was to be its lone run, while Twins would add many more.
In the fifth inning, Twins rallied for four runs to turn the game its way.
The team then took more distance from the seventh inning on.
In that at bat, Twins scored three runs, then added six more in the eighth inning.
Twins collected 14 basehits in the game, while Hoboken hit only four off of five pitchers.
In the third inning, Misja Harcksen took over the pitching from Evertse and threw four strong innings.
He struckout nine hitters and gave up only one basehit.
On Sunday (April 8), Twins traveled to Belgium to play against Belgian champion Borgerhout Squirrels at the site of Brasschaat Braves.
Both teams scored a lot of runs, but in the end, Twins left the field victorious with a 16-13 victory.
Twins was outhit 17-12.
Twins' Head Coach Kevin Knollenburg used six pitchers today.
Four of them also pitched in Saturday's game.
