Belgium and Spain play exhibition games in Rotterdam

ROTTERDAM (Neth.) -
The National Baseball Teams of Belgium and Spain will play two exhibition games in Rotterdam to prepare for the upcoming first edition of the Super 6 Baseball Softball.
The international event opens next Tuesday, September 18 in Hoofddorp (Netherlands).
Belgium and Spain will play their first game on Thursday-evening, September 13, then meet again on Friday-evening.
Both games will be played at the Neptunus Familiestadium in Rotterdam, the home of reigning champion Curaçao Neptunus.
The two games will begin at 7:30 PM and the entrance is free.
Two years ago, Spain finished in second place at the European Championship in Hoofddorp (Netherlands), losing the Final against the Netherlands.
Belgium finished in sixth place back then.
Both teams will have some familiar names on their roster.
Playing for Belgium are Neptunus-second baseman Benjamin Dille and former Neptunus-pitcher Kenny Van Den Branden, as well as infielders Dennis De Quint and Jamie Verheyleweghen, who both play for De Glaskoning Twins.
One of the pithers on the Spanish roster is lefthander Ricardo Hernandez Sanchez, who pitched in the Dutch big league some years ago for Hoofddorp Pioniers.
The Netherlands Team also will play an exhibition game.
The Orange squad will meet the Czech Republic in a game that will be played coming Sunday (September 16) at the Rob Hoffmann Vallei, the site of HCAW in Bussum.
A week ago, the roster of the Netherlands Team was announced.
Participating the Super 6 Baseball Softball are the six best European baseball- and softball-countries, based on the latest European Championships.
For baseball, the one played in 2016, for softball, the one played last year.
In the baseball-tournament, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Belgium and Spain will be joined by Germany and Italy.
Participating in the softball-tournament are the Netherlands, Italy, the Czech Republic, Great Britain, Greece and Russia.
The Netherlands Team has no exhibition game scheduled.
The team played an intersquad game on Wednesday-afternoon.
