Game-schedule European Champions Cup released

ZAGREB (Croatia) - The European Baseball Confederation (CEB) (WBSC Europe) has released all official game-schedules for this years international competitions on Friday (April 13).

This year, there are 14 international competittions on the schedule. The last schedule to be confirmed and announced was that of the European Champions Cup, which will be held June 6-10 in Rotterdam (Netherlands).

Eight teams will participate in that event, including Dutch champion Curaçao Neptunus and vice-champion L&D Amsterdam Pirates. Last year, Neptunus won the Cup when the tournament was played in Regensburg (Germany).

Amsterdam Pirates will play in Pool A. In the Preliminary Round, the team will meet Pirati dei Rimini (Italy), Rouen Huskies (France) and VOITH Heidenheim Heideköpfe (Germany).

Cupholder Neptunus will play in Pool B and meets Draci Brno (Czech Republic), T&A San Marino (San Marino) and UnipolSai Fortitudo Bologna (Italy).

On the first day, Amsterdam Pirates plays against Heidenheim Heideköpfe at 3 PM, while Neptunus meets San Marino at 7:30 in the evening.

Most games will be played at the Neptunus Familiestadion, the home of Neptunus in Rotterdam. There also will be a daily game at the site of Euro Stars in Capelle a/d IJssel.

Complete Schedule European Champions Cup

Besides the European Champions Cup, there will be four more club-competitions this year.

Ostrava (Czech Republic) will be the site of the CEB Cup (June 5-9). In Brasschaat (Belgium), the tournament for the Federations Cup will be played (June 11-16).

There also will be two Qualifiers for the Federations Cup, which will be played June 12-17. Pool 1 will be played in Blagoevgrad (Bulgaria) and Pool 2 in Rybnik (Poland).

Also on the schedule this year are four European Championships in different age groups.
The European Championship Juniors (U18) will be hosted July 9-15 in Grosseto (Italy), the European Championship Juveniles (U12) will take place June 30-July 8 in Budapest (Hungary). There also will be two tournaments for the European C Championship (July 23-28). Pool 1 will be held in Ashbourne (Ireland) and Pool 2 in Kropyvnytskyi (Ukraine).

Besides these events, there will be three Qualifying Tournaments, including two for the European Championship Cadets (U15) (July 16-21). Pool 1 will be organized in Sisak (Croatia) and Pool 2 in Antwerp (Belgium).

Bratislava (Slovakia) will be the site for the European Championship U23 Qualifier on August 6-12.

The European Championship A-Pool Play-Off will be played June 29-July 1 in Wiener Neustadt (Austria).

The international season in Europe will be concluded September 18-23 in Hoofddorp (Netherlands), where the inaugural edition of the Super 6 Baseball Softball will be organized.
