HCAW-starter Chris Pfau threw five strong innings. The lefthander struckout nine hitters and allowed only three hitters to reach base, none of them getting into scoring postion. When Pfau left the mound, HCAW was leading 1-0 and he was the pitcher-of-record, but DSS then came alongside.

In the top of the first inning, Pfau walked Odion Gouverneur, but he was then eliminated with a pick-off. With two outs in the third, Pfau gave up his lone basehit, which was hit by Mitchel Dautzenberg. Pfau then walked Koen Halderman with one out in the fifth. Both were left behind on first base.

HCAW was more productive off of starter Lars Vogelaar, but he was supported with some fine defense.

Vogelaar gave up a lead-off single to Jeandro Tromp in the bottom of the first inning and walked Roelie Henrique with one out. A double play then ended the at bat.

In the second inning, Bryce Cherry led off for HCAW with a double. After Seb Visser walked, a force out followed, then DSS turned another double play.

After being retired in order in the third inning, HCAW opened the score in the fourth inning. With out out, Vince Rooi walked, moved to third base on a double by Bryce Cherry and scored on a 2-out single by Patrick Bok.

In the top of the sixth, Timo van Ancum took over the pitching for HCAW and gave up a 2-out homerun to Odion Gouverneur, which tied the score.

In the remainder of the game, DSS would get only one more baserunner, who would strand on first base.

HCAW re-took the lead in the bottom of the sixth, but also left three runners behind. The bases got loaded off of reliever Sander Helmendach. Vince Rooi led off with a walk, Seb Visser walked with one out, then an error followed on a force play-grounder by Patrick Bok. With two outs, Julian Goins walked to bring in a run. Hereafter, a pop-fly ended the at bat.

HCAW decided the game with a 4-run rally in the seventh inning. Delano Selassa and Berend Ruben led off with back-to-back doubles, resulting in a run. With one out, Bryce Cherry connected for his third double in the game to bring in Henrique. A pitching change followed, but the bases got loaded when Seb Visser singled and Patrick Bok walked. With two outs, Julian Goins delivered a 2-run single to make it a 6-1 score.

HCAW scored its last run in the eighth. Berend Ruben reached on an error and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Seb Visser.
