Gilmer Lampe & Kevin Kelly return to Dutch big league

Next year, outfielder Gilmer Lampe and righthanded pitcher Kevin Kelly will play again the entire season in the Dutch big league.
This year, the two played in the Serie A1, the highest Italian league.
Lampe played for UnipolSai Fortitudo Bologna and Kelly pitched for Pirati dei Rimini.

After completion of the Italian season, the two returned to the Netherlands and in September they re-joined their formers teams L&D Amsterdam Pirates and Curaçao Neptunus for whom they remained eligible to play in the Dutch competition.
With that, the two played against each other in the Holland Series after already having made an appearance in the preceeding Championship Pool.
Next season, Lampe and Kelly will be available the entire season again for respectively Amsterdam Pirates and Neptunus.
Both clubs confirmed this.
Gilmer Lampe first played in the Dutch big league in 2014.
In that year, he was the leading hitter for UVV, hitting .355 (50-for-141).
He also led the team in runs scored (29), basehits (50) and stolen bases (11).
In 2015, Lampe's batting average dropped to .273 (44-for-161), but nevertheless, he again was the best hitter of UVV.
He also was UVV's best player again in runs scored (23), basehits (44), doubles (5) and stolen bases (20).
With his 20 stolen bases, Lampe also led the entire league.
Lampe transfered to Amsterdam Pirates after the 2015 season.
In his first year in Amsterdam, the outfielder batted .323 (41-for-127), the third highest average in the team behind Kenny Berkenbosch (.356) and Linoy Croes (.355).
He scored 22 runs, collected 41 basehits, including 11 doubles, batted in 19 runs and led the team with 13 stolen bases.
Last year, Lampe was the second best hitter of Amsterdam Pirates, hitting .374 (43-for-115), trailing only Danny Rombley (.390), who retired after the season.
Lampe also was second best with 34 runs scored, but led the team with 12 doubles and eight stolen bases.
He batted in 29 runs and recorded 43 basehits.
Kevin Kelly also made his debut in the Dutch big league in the 2014 season when he first played for Neptunus.
In that year, he appeared in 17 games as a reliever and was 4-2 with no saves and a 2.39 ERA.
In 26 1/3 inning, Kelly struckout 23 batters.<>
In 2015, Kelly pitched in 23 games for Neptunus, including two starts.
He was 3-1, closed with a 2.29 ERA and one save and struckout 43 batters in 39 1/3 inning.

In his third season in the Dutch big league, Kelly was 2-0 with four saves and an 0.29 ERA, giving up only one earned run in 31 1/3 inning.
The righthander struckout 40 batters and threw in 19 games, including two starts.
Last year, Kelly was more used as a starter, as he started 10 of his 12 games for Neptunus.
He was 5-3 with one save and a 3.68 ERA.
In 63 2/3 inning, Kelly struckout 50 batters.
As mentioned, Gilmer Lampe and Kevin Kelly played in Italy this season.
Lampe played in 23 games for Bologna, with whom he won the Italian Championship-title.
Lampe batted .301 (25-for-83) with four doubles and three homeruns.
He scored 26 runs and batted in 16.
Kelly pitched in 15 games as a reliever for Rimini.
He was 0-0, but was credited with three saves and closed the season with an 1.72 ERA.
In 15 2/3 inning, Kelly struckout 19 batters.
