DSS records big shutout-win against Storks

HAARLEM (Neth.) -
DSS recorded a big 19-0 shutout-victory on Thursday-evening (April 19) against Silicon Storks in an exhibition-game in Haarlem.
The two teams will face each other again on Sunday in The Hague.
With that game, the teams wil close their exhibition season.
The regular season opens on Thursday, April 26.
Leading 2-0, DSS rallied for seven runs in the second inning off of starter Nick Winkel to decide the game.
In the rally, there were several basehits, including runscoring singles by Koen Halderman and Djewi De Lanoi.
Later in the game, DSS took more distance, which included a 5-run rally.
Mitchel Dautzenberg was 4-for-5 for DSS, while rookie Barry Beugeling hit his first (exhibition)-basehit in the main-squad.
Tom Stuifbergen started for DSS and threw four fine innings.
He was followed on the mound by Donny Breek (2 innings), Tim Halderman (1 inning) and Reggie Bomberg (1 inning).
They all held Storks scoreless.
The team from The Hague, which also made some defensive errors, did reach the bases, but simply was unable to do some scoring tonight.
