 Marco Wels named new Head Coach of DSS

Marco Wels has been named the new Head Coach of DSS, the club announced on Wednesday (September 19) after a publication in the Haarlems Dagblad-newspaper.
The rest of the coaching-staff has not yet been announced.
A week ago, Wells announced that he had stepped down as Head Coach of Cityside Apartments Quick Amersfoort after having led the team for two seasons.
Wels took over the team after the 2016 season.
Last year, he led Quick Amersfoort to the top in the second highest league and qualified for the Promotion/Relegation Pool.
That eventually led to promotion to the Dutch big league.
This season, Quick Amersfoort returned to the highest level for the first time since 1996.
Wels said that the distance between his home and Quick was the main reason for stepping down.
He also said: ,,I want to do something closer to my home.
When something gets my way, I'm always available to do something.''
The contact between Wels and DSS began some days ago and was finalized in the weekend.
At DSS, Wels succeeds Jerry Breek, who confirmed on September 6 that he would step down as Head Coach of the team.
Breek led DSS in the past two seasons.
This year, the team almost qualified for the top-four, but eventually ended up shortly.
DSS finished in a tie with De Glaskoning Twins, but lost on the head-to-head results.
In the Promotion/Relegation Pool, DSS finished in first place.
