Twins closes exhibition season with shutout against Quick Amersfoort

AMERSFOORT (Neth.) -
De Glaskoning Twins closed its exhibition season on Saturday (April 21) with a comfortable 11-0 shutout-win in a 9-inning game against Quick Amersfoort.
Last Thursday, Twins trailed 3-0 in the first game against Quick, but turned it around in an 8-5 victory.
Twins had a productive afternoon in Amersfoort and collected 18 basehits.
Head Coach Kevin Knollenburg used five pitchers, who held the Quick-offense scoreless.
Misja Harcksen started for Twins and threw four strong innings.
He was followed on the mound by Reynaldo Sarmiento Claro, who threw the next two innings.
Hereafter, Mic van de Ven, Pastor Martínez Chevez and Thijs Steenwijk all pitched one inning.
Jurjen van Zijl was the starting pitcher for Quick Amersfoort.
He made only his second appearance during the exhibition season after having recovered from an injury.
Lefthander Brian van Laar took over from Van Zijl.
Hereafter, Venezuelan righthander Luis Figuera Roman made his pitching-debut for Quick Amersfoort after he arrived last Thursday.
Aaron Isenia and Mark Kolner also pitched for the home-team.
Twins opens the regular season coming Thursday-evening (April 26) at 'home' against Silicon Storks, which then will make its comeback at the highest level.
Twins will play this home-game at the site of Gryphons at Rosmalen.
Quick Amersfoort also will make its comeback in the Dutch big league on Thursday-evening.
The team then will play at home and hosts HCAW.
