Quick Amersfoort opened the score with an unearned run in the bottom of the first inning off of DSS-starter Nick Keur.
The lefthander gave up a lead-off single to Rick Kuipers, who advanced when next hitter Jelle Blaauw reached on an error.
Both are newcomers in the team of Quick after having played for UVV last season.
With one out, Rachid Engelhardt (who came from HCAW) delivered a double to bring in Kuipers.
That also ended the afternoon for Keur, who appeared to have an injury.
Afterwards, it was confirmed that Keur sustained an injury in his left elbow.
The bases then got loaded when a walk followed, but a double play then ended the at bat.
Quick added two runs in the third inning off of reliever Lars Vogelaar.
Kuipers and Blaauw both walked and with one out, the bases got loaded when Rachid Engelhardt (who was 2-for-3) singled.
A fielder's choice-grounder from Jules Cremer followed, but no out was made.
Kuipers scored and the bases remained loaded.
Luigino Rosaria then brought in the next run with a single.
However, three runners were left behind when a strikeout and groundout followed.
In the next four innings, Quick kept on reaching the bases, but was unable to add more runs.
DSS got a runner in scoring position in the top of the second inning off of starter Mees Cremer.
Denzel Richardson then led off with a single, moved on a grounder and stole third base, but was left behind.
In the third, with two outs, Odion Gouverneur singled for DSS and stole second base, but also stranded.
DSS left the bases loaded in the fifth.
Kevin Nieveld then led off with a walk.
With two outs, Tommy van de Sanden singled and Gouverneur walked, but the inning ended with a force out.
In the sixth, DSS stranded its last runner in scoring position.
With one out, Tino van Erk was on second base when Richardson walked.
Van Erk moved to third base on a force play-grounder, but was left behind.
