Former Quick-groundskeeper and equipment manager Felix Kirindongo passed away

AMERSFOORT (Neth.) - Felix Kirindongo, who had a long association with baseball- and softball-club Quick Amersfoort, passed away on Tuesday, August 7 at the age of 75. A memorial service was held on Tuesday, August 14 in Amersfoort. Thereafter, Kirindongo was flown to Curaçao, where he was buried besides his parents on Tuesday, August 21.

Felix Hilario Kirindongo was born on January 14, 1943 in Willemstad, Curaçao. For many years, he was a wellknown personality within the club of Quick Amersfoort, being present on its home site seven days a week. Also outside of his club, Kiringdongo was a well-respected personality. In an In Memoriam on the club's website, Hans Josemans looked back at Kirindongo's activities.

In 1964, Kirindongo came to Amersfoort with several other Antillians, to work for Bronswerk. In those years, many of them went on to play baseball for Quick Amersfoort Kirindongo was not interested in playing, but took upon him another task from the very first moment he joined the club. He became the groundskeeper and equipment manager of the main baseball-squad of the club. In later years, Kirindongo was the groundskeeper and equipment manager of the entire club.
