Xander Bogaerts homers; Kieboom-brothers hit doubles

FORT MYERS / WEST PALM BEACH, Florida / MESA, Arizona (USA) -
On Saturday (March 2), Xander Bogaerts (Boston Red Sox), Carter Kieboom, Spencer Kieboom (both Washington Nationals) and Jurickson Profar (Oakland Athletics) played in a Major League Spring Training-game.
Bogaerts hit his first homerun of this years Spring Training, which was his eleventh overall since 2013.
The Kieboom-brothers both hit a double.
At jetBlue Park at Fenway South in Fort Myers (Florida), Boston Red Sox played at home against Baltimore Orioles and lost 9-1.
Baltimore outhit the World Series-winner 16-6.
The lone Boston-run was scored on a homerun by Xander Bogaerts, who was 1-for-2 as the starting short stop.
Bogaerts led off the second inning and then grounded out.
With Boston trailing 2-0, Bogaerts got his second at bat with one out in the bottom of the fourth and then hit his homerun off of Yefry Ramirez, who had come on to pitch in this inning.
Bogaerts was replaced in the top of the fifth.
At FITTEAM Ballpark of the Palm Beaches in West Palm Beach (Florida), Washington Nationals broke a 6-6 tie in the bottom of the eighth inning by scoring four runs and won 10-6, playing at home against Minnesota Twins.
Washington collected 13 basehits, including one each by Spencer Kieboom and his brother Carter Kieboom.
Carter started as short stop for Washington, batted 1-for-2, scored a run and batted in one.
In the bottom of the second inning, Washington tied the score (1-1), but the inning ended when Kieboom grounded out.
Washington trailed 3-2 in the bottom of the fourth, but then scored twice.
With two outs, Wilmer Difo reached on an error, then scored the tying run on a double by Carter.
Moments later, he scored the go-ahead run on a ground-rule double by Adam Eaton.
Carter was replaced in the top of the sixth.
In the bottom of the seventh, Spencer was inserted as pinch-hitter and led off with a grounder.
He stayed in the game as the new designated hitter.
In the eighth inning, with the score at 6-6, Washington took the lead when Brandon Snyder hit a grand slam homerun.
With two outs, Spencer hit a double, but stranded on second base.
At Hohokam Stadium in Mesa (Arizona), Oakland Athletics played at home and won only 1-0 against Cleveland Indians.
The lone run was scored in the fourth inning on a wild pitch.
Jurickson Profar started at second base and was 0-for-3 for Oakland.
He popped out in the first inning, then flied out in the fourth.
Profar struckout in the seventh, then was replaced in the top of the eighth.
