Amsterdam Pirates opened the score with two runs off of starter Juan Carlos Sulbaran in the top of the first inning.
With one out, Niels van Weert reached on an infield-hit and with two outs, he scored on a double by Denzel Richardson, who later scored himself of a single by Kenny Berkenbosch.
In the second inning, Pirates got into scoring position again.
With one out, Victor Draijer singled and stole second base with two outs, but then was left behind.
The visiting team then added its third run in the top of the third.
With one out, Gilmer Lampe walked and he advanced to third base when a pick-off by Sulbaran ended in a throwing error.
With two outs, Lampe scored on a single by Kenny Berkenbosch.
Victor Draijer again was left behind in scoring position in the fourth at bat, as was Linoy Croes, which came after a rare moment.
Croes led off and was hit by a pitch.
He then stole base and Draijer walked.
Nex batter Max Clarijs popped the ball up near the catcher's area.
With runners on first and second base, this of course was ruled an infield-fly.
Catcher Brian Raap caught the ball, but both Croes and Draijer advanced to second and third base.
They were left behind, as two grounders followed.
DSS got into scoring position twice in its first four at bats off of starter Rob Cordemans.
The righthander retired the side in the first inning, but allowed the first two batters to reach base in the second.
Aldi Guzman led off with a walk and Brian Raap singled, but Cordemans then retired the next three batters.

After Cordemans had retired the side again in the third, Guzman hit an one-out double for DSS in the fourth, but again stranded on second base.
And so, the fifth inning began with a 3-0 lead for Amsterdam Pirates.
But then, the scoring really started!
With a 11-0 lead, Amsterdam Head Coach Brian Finnegan decided to bring in some rookies.
In the top of the fifth, Pirates rallied for nine runs to take a commanding 12-0 lead.
Seven of the runs were scored with two outs.
Gilmer Lampe led off the productive at bat with a double and moved to third base on a passed ball.
Next batter Denzel Richardson walked and that was followed by a pitching change, as Moreno Vork took over.
He got a grounder from Kenny Berkenbosch, but that also enabled Lampe to score.
With that, Berkenbosch had batted in three of the four runs scored at that moment.
Moments later, Richardson stole third base and scored on a single by Delano Selassa, who then also stole base.
With two outs, Victor Draijer walked and Max Clarijs followed with a 2-run single.
Hereafter, Roelie Henrique contributed with a 2-run homerun, which lifted the lead to 9-0.
Niels van Weert then singled and Gilmer Lampe walked in his second at bat in the inning, which led to the next pitching change.
Lars Werkman took, but he gave ip a single to Denzel Richardson that brought in the eleventh run.
When an outfield-error followed, Richardson advanced to third base.
After he had reached third base, Richardson, who sustained an oblique-injury, was replaced by pinch-runner Kit Gijsbers, who made his big league-debut.
Moments later, Gijsbers scored the twelfth run in the inning on a wild pitch.
He then wrote baseball-history in the next inning when Pirates rallied for eight runs.
With one out in the sixth, Amsterdam Pirates got the bases loaded when Victor Draijer and Max Clarijs both walked and Roelie Henrique singled.
A run was then scored on a single by Niels van Weert.
With the score now at 13-0 and the bases still loaded, Chris Stuart entered the game as pinch-hitter and also made his debut.
He was hit by a pitch to bring in the 14th run.
A pitching change followed and Ben Neijndorff took over.
He faced Kit Gijsbers, who had stayed in the game as the new rightfielder for Pirates.
In his first-ever big league-at bat, Gijsbers swung at the first pitch he saw and hit a grand slam homerun!
This made it an 18-0 score.
Next batter (and pinch-hitter) Aidan Finnegan was hit by a pitch and then Linoy Croes homered to lift the lead to 20-0.

Last season, Kit Gijsbers studied and played baseball for the Huskies, the baseball-team of the University of Connecticut at Avery Point (Junior College).
After returning home, he joined the second team of Amsterdam Pirates as a pitcher.
This year, he also is a pitcher, but also an outfielder in the second team, which plays in the second highest league.
Due to an injury, he didn't pitch yet for the team.
Since the start of this season, Gijsbers also is on the roster of the main-squad to be with the team as a back-up player during some games.
And tonight, he made his debut in spectacular fashion.
The homerun hit by Gijsbers was of course also his first basehit in the Dutch big league.
Through the years, a small group of players accomplished the feat of hitting a homerun as their first big league-basehit.
So far, it is recorded that three players have hit a homerun in their first at bat.
They were Lars Koehorst (Hoofddorp Pioniers) in 1991, Percy Isenia (Neptunus) in 1996 and Renny Hernandez (Hoofddorp Pioniers) in 1999.
Almost surely, Gijsbers is the first player ever to hit a grand slam homerun in his first at bat.
Besides that, he did something that was done 37 years ago for the first and last time by a player from Pirates.
On April 25, 1982, Ronald Stoovelaar became the first (and only) Pirates-player whose first basehit in the big league was a homerun.
He hit his historic homerun against Amstel Tijgers in the opening weekend of the 1982 season when Pirates made its big league-debut.
Now, 37 years later, Gijsbers became the second Pirates-player to accomplish this feat, but he did it in his first at bat and hit a grand slam!
Nick Veltkamp took over the Amsterdam-pitching in the bottom of the sixth and gave up the lone DSS-run.
Tino van Erk led off with a single, advanced to both second and third base on two consecutive wild pitches.
After next batter Leandro Anasagasti walked, Van Erk scored on a sacrifice fly by Aldi Guzman.
A double play then ended the at bat.
Amsterdam Pirates also ended the seventh inning with a double play and that also ended this very lopsided game.
