Quick Amerfoort was retired in order by Neptunus-starter Diegomar Markwell in the first inning, but then threatened to open the score in the second at bat.
With one out, Taylor Clemensia doubled and with two outs, Sam van der Ploeg was hit by a pitch.
Markwell then got the bases loaded when he walked Dakota van der Heyde.
However, three runners were left behind when a grounder ended the at bat.
But in the third inning, the home-team did score and took a 2-0 lead.
With two outs, Rachid Engelhardt walked, then his brother Bryan Engelhardt hit his fourth homerun of the season.
In the fourth and fifth inning, Quick got some more baserunners, but this time, the Neptunus-defense turned two double plays.
Quick added a run in the bottom of the sixth.
With one out, Taylor Clemensia (who last season was on the roster of Neptunus) walked and scored on a double by Rowan van Hoek.
For Quick, the scoring stopped here, while Neptunus started its scoring in the seventh inning.
Initially, Neptunus was held scoreless by lefthander Colin van Laar.
He saw Neptunus get into scoring position several times, but avoided giving up runs.
In the top of the first inning, Van Laar gave up a lead-off single to Stijn van der Meer, but his defense then turned a double play.
Next, Van Laar struckout Dwayne Kemp, but he reached on a throwing error by the catcher.
After Kemp had stolen second base, Gianison Boekhoudt walked.
After a double-steal, the two stranded on second and third base, as a grounder ended the at bat.
In the second, Dudley Leonora led off for Neptunus with a double and stole third base.
While doing so, he appeared to be running out of his lane to avoid being tagged in a rundown.
It was not ruled that Leonora had violated he running rules and so he reached third base, but was left behind.
Leonora was left behind again in scoring position in the fourth inning, this time stranding on second base.
In the sixth, another Neptunus-runner was left behind on third base.
With one out, Dwayne Kemp walked, stole second and advanced on an error, but stranded on third base.

Trailing 3-0, Neptunus reached the bases again in the seventh inning.
This time, the team was able to score four runs, thanks to the defense of Quick, which made four costly errors.
With one out, Tyriq Kemp reached on a bunt-single.
This was the first big league-basehit for the younger brother of Dwayne Kemp, who made his debut tonight.
Next, Tyriq Kemp should have been eliminated on a grounder by Julian Goins, but that ended in the first error.
The bases then got loaded when Jochem Koedijk was hit by a pitch.
A grounder by Stijn van der Meer then ended in two errors, which resulted in two runs.
Moments later, Neptunus came alongside when Koedijk scored on a hit by Benjamin Dille that was missed in the outfield.
With runners now on second and third base, Jan-Willem Geerts took over the pitching from Colin van Laar.
He saw Dwayne Kemp hit a sacrifice fly that put Neptunus ahead, 4-3.
The inning ended when Dille was eliminated at the plate trying to score on a wild pitch.
Now with a 4-3 lead, closer Kevin Kelly took over the pitching for Neptunus in the bottom of the seventh.
In the eighth inning, Neptunus added two runs.
Shaldimar Daantji led off with a walk and Dudley Leonora singled.
With one out, the two executed a double-steal, then both scored on a single by Julian Goins.
Neptunus scored an insurance run in the top of the ninth off of new pitcher Jasper Popken.
Benjamin Dille led off with a triple and scored on a sacrifice fly by Gianison Boekhoudt.
Kevin Kelly retired the side in the seventh and eighth inning.
In the bottom of the ninth, he got one baserunner.
Kelly struckout lead-off hitter Rowan van Hoek, but he reached on a wild pitch.
That also led to an injury to catcher Julian Goins.
Van Hoek swung at a wild pitch that jumped up, hit the leg of Goins and then ended up on some delicate parts.
Goins was unable to continue playing and was assited off the field to the dug-out.
Veteran Gianison Boekhoudt, who was the designated hitter, took over behind the plate.
Moments later, Van Hoek stole second base.
With one out, he advanced to third base on a grounder.
But hereafter, Kelly closed with a strikeout, which was his sixth in the three innings he pitched.
Kelly earned a save, which was his fourth of the season.
