Jonathan Schoop homers; Kenley Jansen winner in first appearance

PHOENIX, Arizona / FORT MYERS / KISSIMMEE / WEST PALM BEACH, Florida (USA) -
Five Dutch players got into action on Sunday (March 3) in Major League Spring Training.
Jonathan Schoop (Minnesota Twins) homered, which marked the third day in a row that a Dutch player hit a homerun.
Jurickson Profar (Oakland Athletics) and Xander Bogaerts (Boston Red Sox) homered on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
Also on Sunday, Kenley Jansen (Los Angeles Dodgers) made his first pitching-appearance this Spring Training.
He threw one inning and became the winning pitcher.
Ozzie Albies (Atlanta Braves), Xander Bogaerts (Boston Red Sox) and Carter Kieboom (Washington Nationals) also played on Sunday.
At Camelback Ranch-Glendale in Phoenix (Arizona), Los Angeles Dodgers played at home against a split-squad of Texas Rangers and won 6-3.
Texas took a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning off of starting pitcher Kenta Maeda, highlighted by a 2-run homerun by Matt Davidson.
Los Angeles got one run back in the second inning.
With Texas leading 3-1, Kenley Jansen took over the pitching in the top of the third inning to make his first appearance in this years Spring Training.
After last season, the righthander underwent heart-surgery and has recovered well from the procedure.
In the third inning, Jansen first faced Hunter Pence, who then reached on an error.
The next batter lined out to rightfield and after Pence had stolen second base, Jansen struckout Nomar Mazara.
The inning ended with a line out to third base.
In the bottom of the third inning, Los Angeles rallied for four runs, two on double by Alex Verdugo, two on a single by Austin Barnes to give the team a 5-3 lead.
And as Los Angeles hold onto the lead, Jansen was credited with the win, as he was the pitcher-of-record when the team took the lead.
Jansen pitched one inning, as he was relieved in the top of the fourth by Joe Kelly.
At Hammond Stadium at the CenturyLink Sports Complex in Fort Myers (Florida), a split-squad of Minnesota Twins played at home against Philadelphia Phillies and played a 9-inning game that ended in a 3-3 tie.
Jonathan Schoop started at second base for Minnesota and batted 1-for-3, which was a homerun.
He batted in two runs.
Schoop grounded out in the second inning.
With Minnesota trailing 2-0, he got his second at bat in the bottom of the fourth off of new pitcher Victor Arano.
He walked lead-off hitter C.J. Cron, then gave up a 2-run homerun to Schoop that tied the score.
Later in the at bat, Minnesota took a 3-2 lead, thanks to a single by German Max Kepler.
Schoop grounded out in the sixth inning, then was replaced in the seventh.
Philadelphia came alongside in the top of the ninth.
At Champion Stadium at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in the Walt Disney World Resort in Kissimmee (Florida), Atlanta Braves played at home against Miami Marlins, scoring the winning run in the ninth inning.
Ozzie Albies started as second baseman for Atlanta and was 0-for-3.
He grounded out int he first and third (bunt) inning, then struckout in the fourth.
Albies was replaced in the top of the sixth.
In the top of the ninth inning, Atlanta led 5-3, but Miami then came alongside on a 2-run single by Deven Marrero.
With one out in the bottom of the ninth, Atlanta won, thanks to a walk-off homerun by Andres Blanco.
At jetBlue Park at Fenway South in Fort Myers (Florida), Boston Red Sox hosted a split-squad of Minnesota Twins and won 9-7.
Xander Bogaerts was the starting short stop for Boston and was 0-for-1 with a walk.
With one out in the bottom of the first inning, Mookie Betts doubled and with two outs, Bogaerts walked.
But the two were left behind on the bases.
Bogaerts grounded out in the third inning, then was replaced in the top of the sixth.
At FITTEAM Ballpark of the Palm Beaches in West Palm Beach (Florida), Washington Nationals won 4-2 at home against Houston Astros.
In the top of the sixth, Carter Kieboom entered the game as new short stop for Washington.
He got his lone at bat in the seventh, but then grounded into an inning-ending double play.
