Czech Martin Červenka homers in Spring Training

FORT MYERS / JUPITER, Florida (USA) -
Czech catcher Martin Červenka, who made his Spring Training-debut a few days ago, on Monday (March 4), has hit his first homerun, while playing in the Major League-squad of Baltimore Orioles.
Three Dutch players played on Monday, being Jonathan Schoop ((Minnesota Twins), Carter Kieboom and Spencer Kieboom (both Washington Nationals).
At Hammond Stadium at the CenturyLink Sports Complex in Fort Myers (Florida), Minnesota Twins played at home against Baltimore Orioles and lost 9-4.
Jonathan Schoop was the starting second baseman for Minnesota, batted 1-for-3 and scored a run.
Schoop popped out in the first inning.
With Minnesota trailing 5-1, Schoop got his next at bat in the third inning.
With one out, he walked, then scored when next batter C.J. Cron homered.
Schoop grounded out in the fifth, then was replaced in the top of the seventh.
In the bottom of the seventh, Martin Červenka became the new catcher for Baltimore.
With two outs in the top of the ninth, Drew Jackson doubled for Baltimore and next batter Anthony Santander was hit by a pitch.
Pitcher Tyler Duffey then faced the Czech catcher, who hit a 3-run homerun.
At Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium in Jupiter (Florida), Washington Nationals played an away-game against Miami Marlins and lost 9-8.
In the bottom of the sixth, Carter Kieboom became the new short stop for Washington, while Spencer Kieboom took over behind the plate.
In the top of the seventh, Carter grounded out and in the eighth, Spencer did the same.
With Miami leading 7-6 in the top of the ninth, Washington scored twice.
With one out, Brandon Snyder was hit by a pitch and Hunter Jones walked.
With two outs, Carter Kieboom walked to load the bases.
Hereafter, Victor Robles delivered a 2-run single, but Kieboom stranded on third base.
In the bottom of the ninth, Gabriel Guerrero led off with a homerun to make it an 8-8 score.
Next, Pedro Alvarez singled, Jon Berti walked and Austin Dean was hit by a pitch to load the bases for Miami.
With one out, Isaac Galloway delivered a walk-off single to give Miami a 9-8 win.
