In a close game, there were some close calls and the score went back and forth.

DSS came close to opening the score in the bottom of the second inning off of starter Thomas Roijers. With one out, Leandro Anasagasti singled, then reached second base safely when Roijers made a throwing error on a force play-grounder by Runai Coran. Hereafter, Tino van Erk singled through the left side. While the ball ended up in short leftfield, Anasagasti was waved home, but ended up short and was eliminated at the plate.

DSS then scored its first run in the third inning in which the Twins-defense committed three errors. Koen Werkman led off with a walk. He then stole second base and advanced to third base on a throwing error. Moments later, Werkman scored when a pop-fly by Devano Pieter ended in another error. Pieter was caught stealing shortly thereafter. Next batter Mitchel Dautzenberg reached on the third error in the inning, but the at bat ended when Brian Raap grounded into a double play.

DSS left two runners behind in the fourth inning. With two outs, Runai Coran and Tino van Erk both singled, but a force out ended the at bat.

DSS got into scoring position again in the sixth. With one out, Koen Halderman singled, as did Runai Coran with two outs, but they stranded.

Twins got into scoring position for the first time in the top of the fourth off of starter Sander Helmendach. With one out, Max Kops doubled, but he was picked off second base by Helmendach.

Twins then came alongside in the top of the seventh. With one out, Yuki Yoshimura singled, then scored the tying run on a double by pinch-hitter Shurman Marlin. A pitching change followed, as Alexander Valdez took over. He saw Marlin advance on a grounder, but closed with a strikeout.

DSS re-took the lead in the bottom of the seventh off of new pitcher Marvin Brown. He walked lead-off hitter Diamond Silberie, who stole second base. Brown struckuout the next two batters, but then gave up a runscoring single to Mitchel Dautzenberg. When Brown walked next batter Brian Raap, he was relieved by Raf Cocu, who closed with a strikeout.

In the top of the eighth, Twins came alongside for the second time. Lead-off hitter Jerzy van Gool walked and moved to second base on a sacrifice bunt by Joshua Zara. Hereafter, he reached third base on a single by Stijn Janssens, who advanced to second moments later later on a passed ball. Next batter Dennis De Quint flied out to rightfield, which became a sacrifice fly as Van Gool scored, but it also was the start of an inning-ending double play. While Van Gool scored, Janssens tried to advance to third base, but was called out there in a close play, which ended the at bat. Twins Head Coach Jeffrey Arends argued the call and was ejected by 3B Umpire Edwin Louisa.

In the bottom of the eighth, DSS took the lead for the third time. With one out, Runai Coran hit the ball into deep centerfield for a homerun that gave DSS a 3-2 lead. For Coran, who last season made his big league-debut playing for Storks, this was his first homerun in the highest division.

In the top of the ninth, Alexander Valdez retired the side and closed with two strikeouts to end the game.
