Nederlands

SURPRISE, Arizona / DUNEDIN, Florida (USA) - Juremi Profar, the younger brother of Jurickson Profar, was added to the main-squad of Texas Rangers for its Spring Training-game on Wednesday (March 20). The 23-year old third baseman was used as a pinch-runner. Jurickson Profar was traded by Texas to Oakland Athletics in December.

Infielder Ray-Patrick Didder (Atlanta Braves) also played on Wednesday.

At Surprise Stadium in Surprise (Arizona), Texas Rangers played at home against Cincinnati Reds and lost 6-1.

Trailing 3-0 in the bottom of the seventh, Texas got several baserunners, but didn't score. Recently signed Hunter Pence led off for Texas with a single, then was replaced by pinch-runner Juremi Profar. Moments later, Profar was forced out on a grounder by David Garcia. Later in the at bat, Texas got the bases loaded with two outs, but another force out then ended the inning.

Profar stayed in the game as the new designated hitter, then got an at bat in the bottom of the ninth, He led off, but flied out.

This is the fourth year that Profar comes into action in Major League Spring Training. He played in one game in 2014, then played in three in 2016. Profar appeared in eleven games in Spring Training of 2017, then was not added last year.

At Dunedin Stadium in Dunedin (Florida), Atlanta Braves visited Toronto Blue Jays and won 8-7.

In the top of the seventh inning, with Atlanta leading 6-3, Dansby Swanson led off for the team with a double. After reaching second base, Ray-Patrick Didder entered as pinch-runner. He moved to third base on a single by Johan Camargo, then scored on a single by Ronald Acuña.

Didder remained in the game as short stop and grounded out in the eighth inning.
