Neptunus got into scoring position in the first and second inning, then for the third and last time in the eighth at bat.
Amsterdam Pirates got into scoring position four times.
In the first and third inning, then also in the eighth.
The team also got a runner in scoring position in the fourth and that led to the lone run in the game.
Amsterdam-starter Jim Ploeger gave up only one basehit to Neptunus in six innings.
A week ago, Neptunus produced only two hits in seven innings off of Australian Nick Veale against Twins Oosterhout, but then struck in the next two innings to win.
Today, the Rotterdam-team was held scoreless by Pirates.
With one out in the top of the first inning, Benjamin Dille reached for Neptunus on an error, then advanced on a passed ball.
With two outs, the Belgian player stole third base and Gianison Boekhoudt walked.
But a grounder ended the at bat.
In the second inning, with one out, Shaldimar Daantji hit the only basehit off of Ploeger.
Daantji stole second base and advanced to third base on a flyout.
Next batter Jochem Koedijk walked, but this time, the inning ended when short stop Roelie Henrique caught a line drive from Stijn van der Meer.
Ploeger retired Neptunus in order in the third and fourth inning.
Roelie Henrique led off the first inning for Pirates off of Misja Harcksen with a single.
After he had advanced on a wild pitch, then next three batters were retired.

In the third inning, Victor Draijer led off for the home-team with a walk, but was eliminated at first base with a pick-off.
Next batter Aidan Finnegan singled and stole second base, but also was left behind.
Amsterdam Pirates scored the lone run in the game in the fourth inning, which also had an important double play.
Gilmer Lampe led off with a single and stole second base.
Moments later, he scored on a double by Denzel Richardson.
Hereafter, Kenny Berkenbosch hit the ball into deep centerfield.
Richardson took off towards third base, but centerfielder Shaldimar Daantji caught the ball.
Richardson made a sliding at third base and returned in time on second base.
Then, an appeal at third base followed and Richardson was called out to complete a double play.
After having slid into third base, Richardson had stepped over the base.
As this is a move toward the next base, it means that a runner has to return back to his previous base via the base he had just reached.
In this case, Richardson had to touch third base again before heading back to second base.
3B Umpire Niek Elshof made the correct call, as Richardson had not done that and thus was called out.
But this also meant that there now were two outs, instead of one and having a runner on second base.
A flyout ended the inning.
But Amsterdam Pirates hold onto the minimal lead in the remainder of the game.
In the top of the sixth, Benjamin Dille led off with a walk, but the Amsterdam-defense turned a double play.
Mike Groen took over the Amsterdam-pitching in the seventh and retired the side.
In the Amsterdam-sixth, Gilmer Lampe walked with two outs.
Brendan Schoemaker then took over from Orlando Yntema and got an inning-ending flyout.
In the seventh, Neptunus made another pitching change.
With one out, Linoy Croes walked, then Kevin Kelly became the new pitcher.
He picked off Croes at first base, then a grounder followed.
In the top of the eighth, Stijn van der Meer hit a triple for Neptunus with two outs.
Closer Tom Stuifbergen was then summoned to the mound and got an inning-ending grounder.
Stuifbergen then retired the side in the top of the ninth and closed the game with a strikeout.
With that, he earned his league-leading fourth save.
