KISSIMMEE, Florida / MESA, Arizona (USA) - On Tuesday (February 26), there were 16 games scheduled in Major League Spring Training, but two of them rained out. Only two Dutch players got into action on Tuesday, being Ray-Patrick Didder (Atlanta Braves) and Jurickson Profar (Oakland Athetics).

So far, there have been eleven Dutch players in Spring Training. Eight of them have played. Kenley Jansen has yet to make his first pitching-appearance for Los Angeles Dodgers. Catcher Hendrik Clementina was added to the Major League-team of Cincinnati Reds for one game, but then didn't play. As known, short stop Didi Gregorius is recovering from surgery and will not play in Spring Training for New York Yankees.

At Champion Stadium at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in the Walt Disney World Resort in Kissimmee (Florida), Atlanta Braves played at home against a split-squad of New York Mets and won 4-3. Trailing 3-2, Atlanta scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth and that proved to be decisive.

In the top of the seventh, Ray-Patrick Didder entered the game as new short stop for Atlanta, taking over from non-roster player Luis Marte. In the bottom of the seventh, with one out and a runner on third base, Didder got his lone at bat and struckout.

For Didder, this was his third participation in a Spring Training-game of Atlanta. He played in nine Spring Training-games in both 2017 and 2018. As Didder is no non-roster player, he is added to games when an additional player is needed.

At Hohoham Stadium in Mesa (Arizona), Oakland Athletics played at home against Los Angeles Angels and lost big with a 17-5 score. Jurickson Profar started as second baseman for Oakland and was 0-for-3. Los Angeles outhit Oakland 18-9.

Trailing 1-0, Oakland scored twice in the bottom of the first inning, thanks to a 2-run double by Stephen Piscotty, who was able to advance to third base on an error. With one out and Piscotty at third base, Profar grounded out. A walk followed, but a force play-grounder then ended the at bat.

Profar led off the third inning, but then lined out to rightfielder Peter Bourjos. He then flied out in the fifth inning and was replaced by Cliff Pennington in the top of the sixth.

With a 6-4 lead, Los Angels struck with seven runs in the eighth inning, then added four more in the ninth.
