Quick Amersfoort scored its three runs in the second and third inning and hold onto the small lead in the remainder of the game.
HCAW was limited to only five basehits by Sem Robberse, who last season made his big league-debut playing for the Bussum-squad.
Tonight, he threw eight solid innings against his former team and struckout five batters.
Both teams got into scoring position in the first inning, but were held scoreless.
Jeandro Tromp led off with a single for HCAW, but was forced out on a grounder by Oliver van der Wijst Severino.
With two outs, he stole second base, but was left behind.
Quick Amersfoort had a similar first at bat.
With one out, Jules Cremer singled off of starter Kaj Timmermans.
He also was forced out on a grounder by Rachid Engelhardt, who then moved to second base on a single by Bryan Engelhardt.
Timmermans closed with a strikeout.
Quick opened the score with two runs in the second inning.
Both runs were unearned, as the HCAW-defense committed two errors.
Rowan van Hoek led off with a single and advanced to third base when a throwing error was made on a sacrifice bunt by Sam van der Ploeg.
With runners on first and third base and one out, the first run was scored when Kevin Windster Adelina also reached on an error.
Shortly hereafter, Van der Ploeg and Windster advanced on a wild pitch.
A second wild pitch then enabled Van der Ploeg to score the second run.
The home-team added another run in the third inning when Bryan Engelhardt hit his third homerun of the season with one out.
Hereafter, Quick was held scoreless in the remainder of the game, but HCAW managed to score only one run itself.
That Bussum-run was scored in the top of the fourth inning.
Oliver van der Wijst Severino led off with a walk, then Rodney Daal singled.
With one out, the two runners advanced on a wild pitch.
Van der Wijst then scored on a following single by Ruendrick Piternella.
With runners on second and third base, Arthur Lugtmeijer hit a line drive, but that was caught by pitcher Sem Robberse, who then eliminated Piternella on second base to complete an inning-ending double play.
It probably also saved the lead for Quick Amersfoort.
In the next three innings, Quick failed to expand its lead, as it left six runners behind.
In the fourth, Quick had runners on first and third base with two outs.
Lead-off hitter Jordy Burger had reached on an error and Jules Cremer walked with two outs, but they stranded.
In the fifth, Taylor Clemensia (with one out) and Sam van der Ploeg (with two outs) singled, but were left behind on first and second base.
And in the sixth, it was Kevin Windster Adelina, who reached on an error and moved to third base on a 2-out single by Rachid Engelhardt, but they also stranded.
In the meantime, HCAW was unable to get into scoring position after having scored its lone run in the fourth.
Sem Robberse retired 12 of the 14 batters he faced in the fifth through eighth inning, including eleven in a row.
With two outs in the top of the eighth inning, Robberse gave up a single to Bob van der Meer.
That brought Pitching Coach Cliff Foster to the mound.
After arriving there, he hold up his hand for the ball.
With that, it appeared that the evening for Robberse was over.
But after some talking, which also included catcher Jules Cremer, Foster put down his hand and returned to the dug-out.
Moments later, Robberse closed the inning with a strikeout.
Jan-Willem Geerts then pitched the ninth inning for Quick.
He retired the side to earn his second save of the season.
