Tonight, Quick Amersfoort again was successful after a change of coaches a week earlier.
Before the start of the series against HCAW, Head Coach Glenn Romney stepped down after having led the team in the first nine games of the season.
From Thursday-evening, Quick is led by the other three members of the coaching-staff, Bench Coach/3B Coach Reinier de Vries, 1B Coach Stanley Engelhardt and Pitching Coach Cliff Foster.
The trio coached the team together, as no new Head Coach was announced.
It was reported on Sunday that this construction was an interim-situation, which would be discussed on a later date.
After having lost the opener of the series in Thursday, the trio led Quick to a win on Friday-evening and now again tonight.
HCAW got a runner on third base in the bottom of the first inning, but failed to open the score.
Jeandro Tromp led off with a walk, then advanced to third base with one out when an error was made on a force play-grounder by Oliver van der Wijst Severino.
However, the at bat then ended with a double play.
Quick then opened the score in the top of the second inning off of starter Dennis Burgersdijk.
Taylor Clemensia led off with a double and advanced on a grounder by Rowan van Hoek, then scored on a wild pitch.
Quick Amersfoort took more distance by scoring two runs in both the third and fourth inning.
In the third, Quick scored its two runs without hitting a basehit.
Both were unearned as there was an error involved.
Lead-off hitter Jordy Burger reached on an error and advanced on a passed ball.
Joran Berkhout then walked and the two runners advanced on a wild pitch.
With one out and first base open, Bryan Engelhardt was walked intentionally to load the bases, but then a 'normal' walk for Taylor Clemensia led to a run.
Next, a sacrifice fly by Rowan van Hoek accounted for the next run and made it a 3-0 score.
In the fourth, Quick scored twice on three basehits, but the HCAW-defense again contributed with two costly errors, resulting in one unearned run.
With one out, the bases got loaded when Dakota van der Heyde, Jordy Burger and Joran Berkhout all singled.
That led to a pitching change, as Timo van Ancum took over.
An error on a force play-grounder by Jules Cremer then kept the bases loaded and enabled Van der Heyde to score.
Rachid Engelhardt followed with another force play-grounder, but again, an error was made and a run was scored.
Three runners were left behind when a strikeout and foul-out ended the at bat, but Quick now led 5-0.
Quick Amersfoort was retired in order in the fifth, but scored another run in the sixth.
Jordy Burger led off with a walk, stole second base with one out, then scored on a single by Jules Cremer.
In the meantime, Quick-starter Pastor Enrique Martínez Chavez did well.
He also was supported with a double play in the second inning.
HCAW got into scoring position in the fourth when Bob van der Meer led off with a double, but Martínez retired the next three batters.
Trailing 6-0, HCAW started to do something back from the sixth inning on.
Jeandro Tromp and Bob van der Meer led off with singles.
The latter was forced out on a grounder by Oliver van der Wijst Severino, but the bases got loaded moments later when Rodney Daal walked.
Two runs were scored then scored on a following single by Ruendrick Piternella, which led to a pitching change.
Brian van Laar, who was the starter in Sunday's cancelled game, took over and began with a strikeout.
The lefthander then got an inning-ending force out.
HCAW scored another run in the seventh, but failed to score more and left three runners behind.
With one out, Norbert Jongerius reached on a bunt-single and stole second base.
Next batter Jeandro Tromp walked, which ended with a wild pitch that enabled Jongerius to move to third base.
He then scored on a single by Bob van der Meer.
A throwing error from the outfield followed, which led to runners on second and third base.
With two outs, then bases got loaded when Rodney Daal walked, but Van Laar then closed with a strikeout.
Both teams didn't got a scoring opportunity in the final two innings and so, Quick won with a 6-3 score.
