 Hoofddorp Pioniers has successful weekend in Nijmegen

Meerlease Pioniers has a successful training-weekend in Nijmegen at the site of De Hazenkamp.
On Saturday (March 30), the team played one game.
The next day two more games were played.
Pioniers traveled to Nijmegen to play against De Hazenkamp, which until last year organized it annual Jan van de Vegte Memorial Tournament for 30 years.
Pioniers was one of the longtime participants in the event.
On Saturday, Pioniers recorded a big 18-1 win against the second team of De Hazenkamp.
Lars Huijer (4 innings), Nick Loos (2 innings) and catcher Damian Melis (1 inning) pitched for Pioniers.
On Sunday, Pioniers placed against WSB from Apeldoorn and lost 8-6 after a bad first inning.
Gilian van Lith (1 inning), Daniel Vos (4 innings) and Nathan Diaby (2 innings) threw for Pioniers in this game.
Later in the afternoon Pioniers played against the main-team of De Hazenkamp and won 8-1.
This time, Luuk ter Beek started and threw four innings.
Lars Broersen then threw the next two innings.
As the team was out of pitchers for the final inning, 3rd Base Coach (and former pitcher) Theo Geerman pitched for Pioniers.
On Tuesday, the pitching-staff of Pioniers will be expanded with an American pitcher.
